Because you are poor.
this

In the period most armies were made of levy farmers which tended to be poor

most of there weapons would be farm tools and a shield would be given to them by the local lord.

if the pesant could afford it his first purchace of protection would be a helmet since the shield is gonna protect your body but you would have nothing on your head.

if however you were a richer noble you would be able to buy the best armour money could buy for 2 reasons

1: to protect yourself well and not die

2: to look fashinaoble and say to people look at my wealth (look at amours of kings and you will see what i mean)

there is no reason that someone who could afford amour wouldnt buy said amour and use it in battle since as said above your not hindered movemnet wise and it offers great protection all round

Haven't you guys heard of the principle 'speed is armour'?
I think its perfectly clear why heavier armour means a decrease in speed.

Because you are poor.

So we want a RPG game that has one defenitive best armor? No thinking needed, just get the stuff that has one stat higher then the other things. Sounds like really good game design.

thanks for your explanation, professor monkey

- so this can be considered as completely bull****, thanks. Armor= turtle move..ok!

or this one , the guy even makes a flip in full armor at 2:44

There should be some kind of endurance feature, based on your athletic skill

Also , can you guys remove these 3 days waiting in "rival gang moving in town" , I bet nobody does this quest because these 3 days waiting.
Also , if rival gang leader dies in battle, the quest fails.
I bet nobody does "escort merchant caravan" either, such useless quest.
Yes please remove the 3 days waiting! It is a big reason why I skip this quest

So... You're saying that the guy can move in heavy armour. Fair enough. No one is contradicting that.

The point is : if the guy in heavy armour can move at speed x, then the guy with less armour/weight can move at a higher speed then x.

The factor that decides speed is the force behind it. The stronger force applied to a movement the higher the acceleration is, resulting in faster speed. That means if the man is hype enough, he can move as fast as a guy in less armor. Of course, this means the hype man spends more energy and thus gets tired faster, but that's another thing.

One thing you might want to change is the autosave, I always want my autosaves to be 1 minute apart, now the minimum I can select is 5.

Also, I didnt see no new video, where is it suppose to be?

Edit: Another thing I used noticed is that I see myself as "cavalry" in battles.

Yeah, noticed this while doing a footman playthrough. Had no horse but hovered over my party on the map and saw "Cavalry: 1".

Not even remotely true. The idea of "Heavy Armor = Slow Man" has been debunked numerous times. Form fitting armor is practically a second skin and wouldn't stop a person from completing a sprint.
In fact it does. It doesnt affect your agility but you are carrying about 20/30kg more than your weight, so it impacts on your speed and stamina. I do medieval combat and know how wearing a armor feels ?

Obviously. The thing is that it results in the same thing. the heavy armour dude will Soon move slower and the lighter armour dude will move faster than the other....

There is no reason in a mostly historical game to not wear the best armour, this game is about fighting battles. If you were to sneak,travel/hunt and get ambushed or anything else there is a reason to not wear the heaviest armour you can get your hands on.

-1 that we are turning this 1.5.10 thread into another geekfest historical accurate discussion about movement and armor. Make a separate thread and talk about it there.

About the xbow perk :grin:onkeys Swiftness.
I found this perk's description changed from
"Reduce accuracy penalty by moving by 30%."
to
"Decreases your crossbow accuracy loss due to movement by 30% ."
After my test in game (new save of 1.5.10), this perk still work for all ranged weapons ,.
As a horse archer player , I do hope it's effect wont be changed to new description .

I thought this was a Sandbox RPG game. So this is why so many people hate the game, it's a history game about war?
