Beta Patch Notes e1.5.0

I am seeing an issue with maximum party size. I noticed it made an increase in size when I was about halfway to clan level 1. Not sure if that is intended. Worse, later in the game at clan level 1, max party size decreased from about 70 down to 49 and now troops are deserting.

EDIT: I went back and looked at my saves and it looks like the reduction in maximum army size may have been caused by sending out a caravan. That's all I did between the two points. I can repeat this issue from my save, even at a different town.

Was the caravan companion the quartermaster or have high leadership?

Can´t tell yet. I´ve just fought small battles right now and haven´t watched the AI.

But I thought, that even with a small army, that my 10 shielded guys would go into the frontline and the 5 unshielded ones into the backline if I use shieldwall (as an example).

That´s not working for me right now. They´re just forming a line but get close to each other if I order the shieldwall.

I thought it should even work with like 5 troops, let´s say 3 shielded and 2 unshielded, than if I order shieldwall I expected it to look like this:

XXX
YY

But it looks like:

XYXXY

Still this update is a huge improvement to 1.4.3, I hope TW will now get all the perk trees working with next one.
That’s too bad. I was also expecting a two line formation with small number of troops. Hopefully this can be adjusted!

Melee Combat:
  • Defend speed has been increased drastically. (So blocking is a lot more responsive now.)
  • Ready speed has been increased. (So your weapon goes faster into the attack position.)
  • Release speed has been decreased. (So your weapon swing/thrusts is slower now.)
  • Quick attacks now skip more processes of the animation. (Removes some of the delay at the start of quick attacks.)
  • Adjusted the crush through formula:
    • It will be easier to crush through with high force weapons now.
    • Made it so that Two-Handed Mace crush through way more consistently than other types.
    • Couch lance attacks can now crush through blocks. (Singleplayer Only)
  • Made defender stuns longer when being struck/hit.
  • Made defender stuns less dependent on weapon weights.
  • Removed stance bonuses to stuns.
  • Made attacker stuns shorter after blocked attacks.
  • Made attacker stuns shorter on bounces/glances.
  • Made attacker stuns shorter for swings + thrusts.
  • Hitting with a weapon now slows it down more, especially for thrusts.
  • Made it slightly easier to chamber block. (More changes to come since its still quite hard.)
  • Decreased the damage thresholds for pierce, cut and blunt attacks:
    • Meaning attacks will not bounce/glance as easily.
    • Made them consistent between the damage types.
  • Modified the damage curve for swing attacks:
    • Swings will now deal damage more consistently.
    • Swings will now deal damage earlier into their collision period.
    • Note that the collision periods for all attacks have been updated (moved further back), check below.
  • Collision period adjustments (the time frame of attack animations that can collide / deal damage):
    • One-Handed Left Swings collision starts slightly later.
    • One-Handed Right Swings collision starts slightly later.
    • One-Handed Lance Thrusts collision starts later.
    • Two-Handed Left Swings collision starts slightly later.
    • Two-Handed Right Swings collision starts slightly later.
    • Polearm Right Swings collision starts earlier.
    • Polearm Left Swings collision starts earlier.
    • Polearms Thrusts damage starts later (collision stays the same).
All of this and some of us thought that we understand how melee works in depth.

I have a problem where the load screen takes forever in single player. sometimes I'm able to get to the load save section, and usually I'm able to load the game. But when I enter a battle the game just takes forever to load until it says I've run out of memory (I look at task manager, and it just shows Bannerlord using up more and more memory incrementally.

Seems like its working just fine, Had 20 sturgian veteran warriors and 2 Aserai recruits in a shield wall formation and both recruits hid behind the sturgian guys.

I'm a vanilla User, no mods.

Each time that I Run the game, this takes like 10mins at the begining.

In singe player each Battle takes eons to load (5mins), After a Battle, world Maps charge things with little demand of RAM or hard disc (Hard disc led blink very little in comparison to 1.4.3), Trading or menús never load the 2D images based in 3D models.

I wanted badly to see the New stuff in 1.5. I Hope soon an Hot Fix.

every scene takes ages to load. could not load the battle scene just now, closed the game via alt+f4.
will switch back to 1.4.3 for now.

Since the update cannot use the F keys in a battle including saved games and a new game WTF

I have not yet had a chance to test the changes in the MP; however people within my circle of trust are satisfied. It remains to be polished but it is a big step forward.

What little I have tried on the SP.
I like the change made to match the proportions of the avatars on the campaign map. I like the incorporation of the roads (they could be a little more visible or could be paved).
I like the relocation of a number of settlements; now interesting bottlenecks may have formed. Pending relocation of Sargoth definitely right?

I've been playing around a bit with the formations and I can sense a certain improvement (I have to try more).

In general, very good work, Taleworlds. This is a good patch.

The bad:

This new model of armor is terribly bad.:

A totally flat modeling, without research process and without applied passion; it seems done in an afternoon.
Here I leave you feedback in the form of an illustrative image:

(@MArdA TaleWorlds I'm tagging you so you can please get this to the right person; I know you will)
If TW won't fix it, I really hope the modding tools come soon. I think its got features that will allow you to change material textures up. It really just doesn't look quite good yet.

I would I also like to see the tartan applied to the sleeves too, just like on the ranger mail piece. Still, I like the spirit of the design, hopefully we get more celtic stuff going forwards.

Thanks ,work fine !

Thank you guys for fixing the smithing exploit with the tier 1 javelin and two handed polearm! Where you could make items that sell for >100000 which was crazy. Now if you guys can look at the calradia expanded mod and integrate all those extracastles, villages, and towns into the game, that could be awesome.

Yes. I thought this was only a party leader skill.
Sorry, not leadership but I meant quartermaster as it is a way to effect the party size without having to be the party leader. If your caravan companion was your quartermaster with high trade, and then you have suck trade, you definitely would see a drop in party size at the relative skill loss.

It's running great for me. I mean I've identified some minor bugs (and reported), but nothing game breaking, and the performance is fine... Odd how this always happens with every patch. One person runs the game fine and the next can barely start it. Apparently a lot of people are having issues on new main branch as well.

Yes. She was quartermaster with high trade. I guess that makes sense.
