Beta Patch Notes e1.4.3

I see armies starve regularly within 5 days of leaving towns, for the most part 5 days sin't enough travel to a place, siege it and return to a town before staving out, but as of that hotfix I have seen it a lot more lately and that is all I am basing it on. yeah starving isn't new but it appears the frequency of it happening is higher, now I know a certain dev is changing the code so they will be less likely to perform a hostile action if they know they are low on food preventing some of it but if the underline problem exits then they will just jump from town to town getting food and not siege. But it is a work in progress we will figure it out.

Going to check this but I have not noticed anything different.

Concerning the crashes you are talking about, here we can find all these threads:

All of them have been updated with the following message:

"Hello, sorry for the late reply. We have fixed a considerable amount of the problems we have encountered so far and improved the game performance with the multiple patches we have released. Please make sure that your game, your drivers, and OS are up to date and the game has necessary permissions over your security software. Please let us know if the problem persists after completing these steps and verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam."

So there is not really any new evidence about new crash issues.

Tech support-Bannerlord-single player is where I look at them all

Please check this video (well, we have to wait for youtube processing it ):

It is a fresh campaign started minutes ago without any mod. I cannot find any issue related to starving armies. In the video you can see how a vlandian army was out of food for some seconds but then buy food in neutral villages and problem solved. Of course, sometimes the AI is not great at calculating food reserves but most of the times it does ok as far I have seen. Plus I have not issues with armies bying food in my towns as long as I have them upgraded and villages are not raided.

Still waiting for video to process, but the problem isn't buying food, I feel they are consuming it faster than normal which results in them starving faster. then they hit towns and buy them mostly out of consumables

I think it's the problem is more about how much they carry instead of how much they consume. Most of the armies are running with low food supply that is not enough to travel, besiege and go back. It ends in them starving at oone point.

You can check in my video that some armies were going for +10 days without bying food. Plus I have found this mexxico's post answering you:

And here are west coast Vlandia towns, they are not perfect but ok. Armies can buy 300 food when they enter a town because one army can consist of 1000 soldiers. They eat 50 per day. For even they buy 6 day food they need to buy 300 food. So there is nothing wrong with armies. Its normal they buy 300-400 food when they enter a town. Their consumption is like others. 20 people eat 1 food per day.

I wonder @Flesson19 if an army enters a town and buy 300 of 500 food there how your gameplay is effected that badly?

So it looks like there is not anything wrong with food consumption as far I am seeing.

There is not food issues, there is not new crash reports, so what are we waiting for 1.5.0 ?

It is possible, I am not saying I am right 100% of the time, but when you do something long enough and you have a feeling something is different you investigate, you won't always be right but there are a few occasions that I have found an issue in game that it took them a bit of figuring out to detect and fix.
However having said that, mexxico is changing some of the code to help deal with starving so there will be some minor changes to that. Food consumption might not be the issue, as mexicco stated he is changing the code so Lords are 'less likely to perform a hostile action if low on food" that means armies will starve less since they won't trap themselves in sieges when almost out of food. Could that be what is causing the increased starving, I don't know the answer to it, like I said I feel something it of with the starving more than normal, he is changing 3 different codes to help with it and that might be all that is needed. And the code changes will be in 1.5 so I do have to wait till then to test them, so I am looking forward to 1.5 also.

Well, maybe I am the one who is wrong, but I have the feeling that starving armies have alway been a problem since release, but the current situation is better than ever and AI is much more capable now to deal with it. I used to see tons of starving armies before but I rarely see them now. Anyway this is just my perception.

Yes, but take into account that fixing this "issue" is not really a problem for devs. I mean, I think they easily could change that armies consume less food, but the thing is trying to find the right balancing to avoid armies being able to take tons of fiefs without having to care about food, increase snowballing, etc. In my view there is not really any issue regarding food consumption, and it is just about devs trying to find the right numbers to balance the game.

I don't rule anything out, I am getting older to maybe it's alzheimer's setting in
I am happy with the small changes mexicco will be doing can't wait to see how the changes affect the game

What you're seeing is a support mod going through and bumping all those old reports to see if the person will give feedback. If you look a few pages in you'll see recent reports. There are plenty. Also as Flesson19 said, on single player page itself there are many. Now, that doesn't mean 1.5 isn't ready or that they need to fix all those thing before 1.4.3 gets moved to stable. It can be stable and still have problems that are still being investigated.

As far as the food, I'm kinda in the middle. I have noticed starving armies much more in this weeks game, but I also don't think it's ruining the game or making it unplayable. In my game the Khuzait don't care one bit if they starve out and get caught by looters. They go right back to being awful and bulling everyone. It's too bad because this could be a good counter measure for large armies trying to do too much too fast. I do not like seeing a AI lord buy all the food though. All week I've been noting -food on my fiefs page, but there's nothing wrong when I get there..... now I see it's because some lord has stopped buy a bought it all. My towns have food upgrades ASAP so it doesn't really hurt me (so far), but many AI towns don't. I don't care that much about that, but do think something has changed.

I really cannot find any crash thread without this message:

"Hello, sorry for the late reply. We have fixed a considerable amount of the problems we have encountered so far and improved the game performance with the multiple patches we have released. Anyway, concerning starving armies, maybe it is happening more often again, but who know. It is hard to say to be honest. I just find it pretty rare when I play my campaign. I suppose that food comsumption is still work in progess like every other aspect of the game and maybe devs changed something.

Yes, there is where I am looking. All threads have the message about the hotfixes asking for more information, except a guys with crashes in 1.4.2 and another one with crashes when starting the game and never has been able to save a game (weird).

Here's my crash
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...waiting-sieging-until-eventual-freeze.429043/
I made another too but can't find it.

Edit: A mod is actively bumping old threads so look on page 6, 7ext, you know what bumping means right?

Lol your army .

I have used your savegame and yes, same happens to me, maybe the game does not support this Horse Archers spam . On a serious note, neven happened this to me before.

BTW, not sure about the actual issue but I have declare peace with Khuzait and join them as vassal and your save game works good for me now. Can you please try it to check if it does not stutter anymore?

Not saying that it is actually a fix, but it looks like there was something related to your fiefs which was buged.

(If you leave khuzait and keep your fiefs, then everything continue working properly, at least in my PC)

We have several crashes still at 1.4.3; we are working on them but all fixed in our side. We need to make 1.4.3 stable first. 1.4.3 was risky refactor patch so finally we are close to make it stable after 3 weeks.

By the way yesterday I started examining war - peace codes finally. Lots of problem there and trying to fix. Will inform you soon.
