Beta Patch Notes e1.4.3

Mexico was working on this last week but i think it will not be in this patch if i understood him right
Oh I know. He was wanting to work on it last week but it got pushed off to this week to analyze trading/economy. Personally I don't mind waiting until Wednesday to give him time to run an analysis and check if there is anything obviously wrong with war/peace, we don't even know if there is anything wrong.

They could just say what we can expect with 1.5.0 but what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have they said why they don't announce content for upcoming patches? I know they uploaded a video, they showed the mod tools which looks good and spear bracing and that's it. I sort of understand why they don't announce dates but contents? come on.

Most of the developers are using Semantic Versioning in the format of X.Y.Z, where :
  • X stands for a major version.
  • Y stands for a minor version.
  • Z stands for a patch.
So we can expect with 1.5.0 more than hotfixes and patches

You are correct in your description of semantic versioning, but that is not what the Devs are doing.

They introduce both fixes and new features as part of patch versions (1.4.2 -> 1.4.3 introduced new skill perks, for example).

And what would be the advantages of announcing things only days before the patch goes life? Ok, we could start complaining about what is still missing earlier but I don't see much sense in talking about some minor things. In the Video they touched on the main things for this update(modding tools and spear rework) but i see no sense in posts about all new armours and weapons or which quests got added to the game. The only result would be way more work for them because players can't test it so they post like 20 pages of questions and expect answers. If the get them Callum and Madra have to work for days just do it and if not they get flamed by many forum users. On the other hand they can just release the update and many questions won't show up because players simply test it.

I see what you're saying. I don't think it takes that long to write a list of things and it will probably do more good than harm. I can happily wait a month for the next patch if I knew what was going to be in it, that's just me though.

Nothing I have seen in the past few weeks tells me this community would respect the process and really take this in a positive light. We are all a bunch of six year olds, and it has nothing to do with Taleworld's behavior.

You'd be surprised how much time it takes to make reasonable patch notes. One of those cases of translating internal discussions into an externally logical information. Plus stuff is constantly changing so it can be hard to keep up.

What if that is still in the air? Why give false promises, something that has crucified them
It´s easy to handle:

"Expect X, Y and Z with the next patch, but we can´t say when it´s ready."
"Sorry, we noticed an issue with Y, it won´t be in the next patch"

I´m not talking about detailed patch notes, just about the core features of the next patch.

But maybe this spear thing is all we´ll get as a core/main feature?

Would be totally easy and fine, I don´t think there would be a riot if they would do it this way. It´s better than just silence.

A lot of EA devs handle it this way.

I would only expect what they mentioned in their recent video.
Is that not what their video essentially did? I'm just saying they have had bad experiences with talking to early about things. There are also devs like NMS who don't say a thing until they drop their patch. Then you have devs like Star citizen who give you roadmaps for their roadmaps which because of the way development actually works don't get followed so you have to constantly remake the "roadmap". Every dev has their own process and they all seem to have benefits and detriments, regardless these videos seem to be their solution. Better than nothing

Blood Gryphon says: "I would only EXPECT..." because nobody knows, that´s what I´m talking about, we are all in the dark because TW just won´t say anything  .

Star Citizen is a different story, it´s like one of kind, selling a lot of expensive stuff during their "EA", the game isn´t even closed to be finished and maybe will never be finished. How many millions did they already "earn" because of their "funding"?

There are also a lot of EA devs with good roadmaps like:

That´s what I call a roadmap for an EA game.

The save started in 1.4.1, then continued into 1.4.2 and 1.4.3 betas. I haven't had any other issues continuing the save (besides the shader crash that was resolved).

I don't think the garrison itself sallied out against me but now I think about it I think I do recall sieging Car Banseth earlier on (I think it was still during 1.4.2). If I remember right I was attacked by an enemy army while the siege was ongoing, defeated and taken prisoner. I guess if that was this town it could've glitched thinking the siege is still ongoing? I'm not 100% sure it was here, it could've been a neighbouring town, but it was one of them in this set of hills. It would've been weeks ago in July so my memory isn't spot on with the details unfortunately.

It doesn't particularly concern me if it's a one-off thing affecting this save as I'll probably start a fresh one next major patch. Just reported in case it was something reproducable that could be fixed  Thanks for having a look.

I had a similar issue being captured while I was besieging somewhere. When I was finally released, it was as if the siege never ended (and I was recaptured again). This was just after the re-factor patch and unfortunately I don't have a savegame file for it anymore. I thought that had been fixed but maybe not. Might be worth trying to recreate and seeing what happens.

Seems to just be an issue with older saves, so I don't know if there is much to be done.

Any word on a hotfix for Lords taking massive amount of consumables yet?
Oh this **** just got real. Mesui went into my town with an army and bought all the food . All of it. **** her I'm fallwing her around buying all the food before she can, she's gonna starve out and I'm gonna punk her.
Fix it by making them buy food from their own faction fiefs or limiting how much they can buy from neutral. Don't give them free food or make them need less fodd. I'm ****ing tired of these endless (khuzait)armies marching all over constantly trying to take over everything, please make them disband and go home or starve out. Don't help them they're already the most annoying thing in the game.

Edit: And why are they knocked out from STARVING? They should die! They get to be a complete idiot and just drag 700 knocked out guys all over the map until they can find food? That's dum please stop letting the AI cheat so much.

Edit: And they're psychic? She knows when I buy all the food and changed her destination. They should have to actually go there and look for food.

Edit: They got caught by steppe bandits! Gonna go make room to pick up free troops from the hideout! To bad most got away in route.

Armies being able to buy food in neutral towns has been an improvement which I hope TW won't remove. This has improved a lot some issues we were seeing in the past wwrw AI armies were constantly starving. If something has to change (I really have hand not much issues with this as long as I build granaries), I just hope that ths not bring back new/older issues.
