Anyone else having crashes when trying to do Arzago's bandit hidout in this Beta?

Par for the course for things that worked to break during testing, kinda the point, just wanna make sure its not just me doing something janky.

Seems like it's not just limited to that particular hideout. There were a few threads reporting crashes related to just attacking/leaving hideouts.

Seems to be related to having either of the tier 3 Trade perks. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/bandit-hideout-crash-beta-branch.413603/post-9357045

I just tried beta but it's unplayable.Everything is crashing.I attack any army game crashes, i siege and deploy crashes, also wierd movemment of npcies on the battles or sieges.I couldnt make 2 battle on a row.
And so instead of making proper reports about these in the support forums (that's literally what the beta branch is about), you just come in here to say the beta ''needs work''.

Nice waste.

I feel that exp is gained way too fast in the beta. My new character has already passed the halfway mark on bow and horse in less then a half hour....

This is unacceptable! I will stay on 1.0.10 eternally if this is not corrected, @Callum. XP gain should be slow and hard. Hope this is a bug!

The problem is that for some reason, if you use bow+mount you are able to increase these skills really fast. I am playing the beta 1.1.0 with lance+mount and my riding skill is at 62 while Polearm at 81 (Day 30). The problem is that there are some skills which need to be checked specifically.

You must be using a save game from previous version where XP gains are extremely buggy. I've been playing around 12 hours on a brand new save file doing combat, tournaments, hideouts and caravans non stop as horse archer with 5 trait points invested ASAP in both and it doesnt go past 150. In fact it seems extremely slow if in the future they enable the currently disabled permanent deaths, because you won't be able to constantly fight and jump in and out of fights risking that much all the time.

(I'm unaware, didn't check if we can see enemies killed and knocked like in Warband, but if it helps to understand how many of those 'fights' to level up those skills I took, just doing these and not really completing many quests I've already reached clan tier 3, winning [0-2 reknown for skirmishes] and [2-9] for Caravans)

Hi!

I'm very interested in Smithing! With the beta patch getting free 10-15 lvl on each characters was a good surprise!
However all materials prices dumped a lot. For example Thamaskene dropped from 758 to 80... Unfortunatly i just smelted all the weapon and now i'm just ruined.
Prices divided by 10!! It is so huge!! I really hope developpers will take a look a this and rebalance it!
Do you have the same issue guys?

XP gains are boosted which changes the experience of patient-but-rewarding grinding in Warband. I feel 0 effort in everything I do as within a few hours I raised to 50+ renown and could easily join a faction to increase income and renown even more. I also hope this is a temporary fix as it removed one of the bigger strenghts of the game which is its ability to create a steep experience curve.

It's probably meant to allow us to experience more of the game faster (since our saves are scrapped regularly) so we can generate more interesting data ?

Why everyone is so big in this beta 1.1 lol. imperials, khuzait... everyone. I think it was better with previous models, hope there will be some mod what revert this change for all except sturgians maybe. The only unit what looks better with this change is Ulfhednar I think.

XP gain is better, early levels just require too little exp with this jumps from 0 to 5 because of 1 javelin hit. I would reduce it a bit like 85% of current xp gain and increase early levels from 30 xp to 300.

Also the main issue I noticed is how easy combat is now, I played some tournaments right from the start with 0 skills and I won them all because AI doesn't block like before for some reason, in 1.0.10 it was painful to even land a hit on some guys with 200+ skill in one handed, he was blocking 90% of attacks without shield, now even with shield they are just trying to hit you and doesn't block in 50% of the time. You can still cheese with circle around enemies but it's not even needed now.

I ve just played for like an hour and already such a big performance improvement in battles. Seems like ram usage was lowered also cpu can handle more troops. So i have higher fps. Havent tried siege yet in new patch so gotta look into it.

This is caused by people using their old saves on the new beta. XP gain is just fine.

Jesus people. If this keeps going we are going to get XP nerfed into oblivion again.\\

@Callum can we get a statement saying not to use old saves with the beta? Apparently there is need for the obvious to be said.

But xp gain is really feels like 2x or 3x from 1.0.10. Especially on early levels which still require 30-50 xp. They need to tweak early levels and maybe reduce xp gain a little bit like 85-90% of current 1.1. It would be better, not too fast and not too slow.

Maybe the best variant will be even the option to tweak it in settings so everyone can slow exp gain if it feels too fast/slow.

If you came to that conclusion by using a clean new save then I have no problem with that. The issue is that there is a lot of people reporting bugs and insane xp gains just from using old saves, and that is going to make it more difficult for mods to deliver the right information to developers.

An option to tweak the xp sounds good to me, more options are always nice. I am also not sure you realize how much xp is needed to get to 270  and if you don't put focus points in skills they will still advance fairly slowly at low levels. Imo if you have five focus points in a skill you kind of are supposed to get through the first levels quickly.

Regarding the exp it seems to me that all experience was increased to accommodate for the classes which struggled more than was necessarily to level up?
Like the combat classes seemed okay in the pre 1.1.0 however Trading, Rouge, Charm etc. seemed to level up to nearly 100 then the grind became such that the game would nearly finish with a faction taking the map or such so continuing would become pointless. So to accommodate for this they've made all exp classes gain exp faster. I started a new save with 1.1.0 Beta and have managed to reach 230 in trading after about 450 in game days which I though was nearly impossible with pre 1.1.0.

I feels like the combat classes are the ones that would need to be reduced if exp would be reduced but a lot of this comes down to the length of the game. We've got these clans and progression trees are great but it seems like the game finishes a lot faster than Warband and easier with factions taking over the map before you can even move onto your children. I believe the devs will get around to fixing this once the games a lot more patched and in later branches and can't wait but at the moment a lot of features are missed or obsolete because of how quickly the map can be taken, and just to add, yes I remembers the first week when the map would get snowballed within 20 hours of game play and that has been reduced massively! but within one characters lifetime the map can still be taken with the help of the player which is what I'm talking about which directly has an impact on how quickly characters can progress. Don't forget with the child & death system you might have to start with a new character in the game several times -generations- (thus begin the exp grind again) before you reach endgame and dominate the continent.
