Beta Branch e1.1.0

and what it means mostly for me is that the one thing khuzait have going for them is reduced to ashes (and even then really only in open fields which is rare as 75 percent of the bloody map is forested)
I haven't actually played with/against the Khuzait in campaign yet, but their spear infantry is actually pretty amazing in custom battles. To the point that I'd actually say they're a bit overpowered...they utterly dominate the Battanian Picked Warriors in infantry fights during custom battles. Though, to be fair, the Battanian Picked Warriors seem to have the wrong stats, and the new issue with AI not blocking very much might be making the Khuzait's throwing weapons more potent than they normally would be.

Edit: The Battanian Picked Warriors still seemed to be among the best custom battle infantry in previous patches. I had them regularly defeat Vlandian Swordsmen, and utterly annihilate Sturgian Spearmen. The degree to which they got smashed by the Khuzait Spear Infantry made me raise an eyebrow; if the lack of blocking the throwing weapons isn't what's causing that, you could probably make a really strong Khuzait infantry army. 'Course, I'm sure that's not what most people are looking to do when they go with Khuzait troops, but it sure does look promising in custom battles.

my savegame was completely compatible. And there aren't a lot of reports of saves being broken.

There are plenty of people complaining about crazy xp gains when using old saves. If you haven't noticed anything on your old savegame, good for you. But if you start seeing funky things going on chances are it will be because of that, and in any case there won't be any way to know if they are bugs with the beta patch or if it's because you are using an old save. Which kind of defeats the whole point of having a beta branch to report bugs on.

Greetings warriors of Calradia!

Erm seems i need the beta branch access code to opt in for this branch on Steam, unless i'm blind and missed something
Can we access beta branch now?

edit : nvm you dont need any password.

The changes they made are big with this patch, it stands to reason that old savegames will not be compatible. I always start a new game with each new patch myself, but for this one it's a no brainer honestly. Especially since it's a beta branch and as such less stable.

If you want to keep playing your old save don't opt into the beta branch. Otherwise start a new game.

as long as you've not installed mods that run a chance of conflicting with the new code I see no reason not to try to use oldsaves with the new beta patch dispite what YOU personally do. The old save will simply adjust itself to the new environment. Can you give us a specific area that would possibly conflict using the new patch info?

(ive yet to experience any problems in my old saves on the new beta, I of course only use certain mods that don't interfere with the base game concepts)

There are actually no crazy xp gains. What has changed is the requirements of the levels. Your XP is still the same, they're just worth more now.

Go to Steam Library, right click on Bannerlord, click "Properties". Then open the Betas tab (last one usually), and opt-in for Beta 1.1.0. Let it download (2GB for me) and should be good!
Thank you so much, i searched for how to upgrade to 1.1.0 for some times.

Guys you do whatever you want, but you literally have no way of knowing if any bugs that you observe are genuinely from the new patch or are because you are using an older save. So if you report bugs from the new patch while playing on an older save you are possibly going to work against the game development. If that is not enough for you I don't know what else to tell you

Its 'going crazy' because the XP requirement for levels changed. So the player still has XP from prior they just have mroe levels because of it.

You are not going to experience all the new changes then. These kind of big updates always need new games. Most of the time there will always be something missing if you dont. Yes you may play your older save but I'm sure there will be issues. Start new game to stay safe and with that you will be able to give more reliable feedback to devs, as you will not be able to tell if a bug exists because you use older save or not.

That is a bit silly man. The only changes that you really can't speak to if you are using old save is economy and steamrolling. I do think a new save should be used for this patch because of how large it is but its far from hindering development to use an old one.

by that logic we shouldn't be using mods either..which is certainly not something im willing to give up so ill take my chances on hindering development whilst enjoying my 40 dollar investment (y)

furthermore, I have no interest in starting over each time the wind blows thereby invalidating my hours of previous progress as some of you dont mind to do.

Sure, but if you encounter a bug make sure to mention if you were using mods and the original version in which the save was created, i am not trying to imply that you wouldnt, but some players could lead the devs to waste time on something worthless. Cheers.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Thank you.

Honestly you shouldn't even report bugs at all if you are using old saves/mods with the beta.

Thats the reason they dont release modding tools just yet. Many people complains about the game because of some mod crashes their game and they think its the games fault.

Im gonna start a new game just to be safe, but to those who want to play an old save it seems they are compatible and working well (you will get bonus xp first time but that is all)

"Well thats why if they just released the Perfect Game at Launch -We wouldnt NEED mods!" ~Kingtroll

No you won't. The levels are just less expensive now, so you get more for the XP you already saved up.

As i handed in the Kingdom quest with Arzargos. I exited his house and ended up appearing at the edge of the town map.
