Need More Info [Beta 1.3.0] Caravan stuck in Town

Users who are viewing this thread

Version 1.3.0 Beta

Basic Summary:

  • Bought one expensive 21.5K Caravan in Balgard and it seems to work fine.
  • Bought two more cheap 15K Caravans in Balgard and they seem stuck.
  • Caravans don't seem to be leaving the Town at all.
  • Clan page displays 'Unknown Behaviour' for Party.
  • Seems to also affect NPC Caravan (see screenshot).
  • They are not damaged and at full strength (30), they've been in the town for many days now.
  • They seem to still be trading but not very well obviously.
  • They also still cost full upkeep.
  • Can't talk to them because the game says I need to be in the same location as them.
  • I am independent (no allegiance or mercenary contract).
  • Game is a fresh campaign started in Beta 1.3.0.

Longer Explanation:

I spent the early game trading and then hired three companions. I sent off one with an expensive caravan bought in Balgard and then later hired two more cheap ones from Balgard as well.

I noticed after a while that only one caravan (the first expensive one) was trading and that the other two were not moving at all and just stay inside Balgard forever. They are costing full upkeep and I don't see them in the Tavern or Keep to interact with. Also, when using the top bar to select them, the game tells me I can't talk to them.

NPC caravans are also affected. The screenshot shows the caravan of 'Gavyn the Brewer' which is also never leaving the town.

They also seem to be trading within the city and generating tiny amounts of income from their deals by just waiting forever for prices to change.

They are at full strength with 30 men and not injured. They both still have 0 XP for Medicine, so they definitely were never attacked and possibly never left the town at all. Despite trading though, they are not getting Trade XP.

EDIT: And when I disband the parties, the companions end up at Pravend and Saneopa (why so far when they were in a town already?)... I'm going to have to trek across the land to recollect them and see if expensive caravans are the only functioning type right now.

EDIT2: Seems like re-hiring with expensive caravans doesn't solve the problem. I hired one at a different town too (Varcheg) and the companion was stuck again, never leaving the town.

There are AI caravans stuck in Sibir too, a town taken by the Khuzait from Sturgia. Many caravans refuse to leave the towns they are in.

EDIT3: Maybe it's because they have no food? Other functioning caravans have food values. But this NPC that is also stuck at Balgard with zero food:

I am also getting this. For me it appeared to be on the escort carvan quest start but yes ALL carvans stuck so game / save is gone..

I saw the escort caravan quest bug also - it was the same as here: the caravan to be escorted won't even start it's journey.

Thanks for the input everyone, let's hope this gets noticed by TW!

Just ran around the world and almost every town has at least one or two caravans stuck inside them. Seems like it has nothing to do with the player or caravan type.

My one caravan that is actually running though seems to be making full opportunity of the lack of competition and making crazy profits.

We have stuck villagers (with AI text of "unknown behavior") problem at 1.3.0 and we are working on now. I think this is also same problem. There will be hotfix for these problems today. However it will not save previously stuck parties.

Thank you! Good to know that I was right to stop playing to stop wasted effort! (But the Khuzait were already stealing loads of towns, so I was just going to restart anyway.)

Today there will be a hotfix for 1.3.0. I suggest you to start a new game with that hotfix. Most problems stated here will be fixed and game will be stable after hotfix.
