Best weapon combo

like the poll asks what is the best weapon combo
my opinion is the sheild and sword along with a crossbow combo
easy to handle and handy

Warbow with max large bag of arrows and the tallest hill i can find. Ill post a screenie if i can find a good one of the arrow riddled corpses of 30 or so river pirates or knights trying to charge up at me, the shatterd sheilds and the busted faces, destroyed by my holy wraith!

Pretty much anything involving a fast horse really. One of my favorites was a crossbow, large quiver of bolts, broadsword and shield along with a fighting axe or something in my inventory as backup. And don't forget my coursier.

The battle fork has 150 or so range, can be used for lancing, and when unhorsed, is effective against cavalry. Good stuff.

Been there, done that, have a T-shirt. That's one of me favorite combos even against swadian x-bowmen. the shield thing is a myth because you can't switch from bow/x-bow to shield and bring it to bear fast enough to beat an arrow in flight and if you already have the shiel up you're just holding a bullseye which cracks eventually. I use terrain as cover and the shield only if I run out of ammo and the chest is near.

To me, using the terrain so you pop up and kill 1 enemy at a time is an exploit.... If the AI was smart enough, it would chase you up that hill and kill you. But, since the AI has no memory, you are perfectly safe when you do that. Hence, an exploit.

I jump off my horse and use it as a shield in archer wars. Doesn't seem to affect my horse any even if he happens to die (which does occur occasionally when there are a few archers aiming at me).
