Best way to increase Charm skill?

I joined a kingdom with the lawspeakers mandate and don’t know how to increase this. It says “socialize with lords and improve relations” but I’m not seeing a lot happen.

It randomly leveled up when i greeted some other Lord, so i guess talking, scheming and doing quests with lords?

I basically can’t do anything in my current kingdom because I have low charm and -q influence per day.
For the life of me I can’t figure out how to intentionally raise it. I got a line boost to it when I helped a lord kill some looters but then I helped others in battle and got nothing?

Best way to gain influence is to build buildings that give influence points
