Best Sword?

I got my hands on a sword that has 46 swing damage and a reach of 120.

Anything better, or can I make a better one?

Polearms have longer reach than swords. Axes are the best for sieges when you don't have a lot of space.

Can't remember specific stats but it is godly. Best sword in the Native game, I believe.

my favorite sword is the bastard sword. any strength. because u can use it with a shield, and when ur shield is destroyed, its turns into a two hander

It's just that it becomes nearly impossible to get any good damage with it when you have a shield...and it has lower stats than a REAL 2-hander...

So I grabbed an axe w/ a swing of around 54. I cycle through my axe and sword in melee, and my spear on horseback.

the best swords for those who cheats are the axes, not only do they deal extra damage to sheilds to break on the first swing, they can insta kill as well... if your insta-killing troops then you should look for an axe with at least 90-100 speed and range.

I'm rather partial to the Masterwork Heavy Bastard Sword.  The 1h/2h flexibility is great... 2h is of course what you try to stick with to not take the hit to speed, but it's nice to be able to just pull the shield w/o having to worry about which weapon also.  Leaves room for a Xbow/Bolts in reserve.

the strongest sword i've seen is masterwork great sword. It does 47 swing damage, but it costs a fortune...

Dunno about stats, but a personal favourite is the masterwork nordic sword. I like a shorter sword, makes it easier when you get in close. Plus it's pretty fast and has a decent damage.

I've had bad experience with the masterwork sword of war, for some reason i seem to be worse with it than a balanced great sword (i keep getting -91% all the time with the masterwork lol). I think a balanced great sword (the thinner one, the one that isn't the same image as sword of war) would be better as it has slightly longer reach i think, and is faster. Its just an all round better weapon, its well worth it to save the money in buying a masterwork, and its performance is considerably better too, because its faster means the enemy block less, so more insta kills (if you have power strike 5 or above you should have no problem insta killing, even when using a bastard sword two handed - thats if you are on the easiest difficulty).

I would hype up the difficulty, but i'm currently playing native expansion, where the enemies are not only considerably harder, but greater in number too, so the difficulty fits perfect. I can't rape the enemy alone now (unless of course i have a knight lance and a heavy charger )
