Recruit
What is the best nation to play with i was told by a lot of pepole that all of the nations are all equal by their power but i want to ask you guys what is the best nation to play with and to have the maximum fun to play with :?: :?: :?:

So I'm not the most experienced person in this game...  I readily admit that I use TweakMB so I don't have to put up with all the reputation swings with the lords (I swear, they are moodier than 13 year olds!), but I've found that the best route is being a merc or just skipping that whole thing and just doing quests for individual vassals to raise rep, then starting your own kingdom.

I like to start up on the far side of the map between the Kerg, Vaeg, and Sars, because I like to recruit my army from the other factions.  Once you get enough training throughout your team, getting a fully decked out army is cake and you don't even need to actively fight fight anymore (still need to be in the battle because the computer is super harsh if you let the AI decide on its own) - unless you're doing sieges.

I run with 30% Swad Knights, 20% Huscarls, 40% Rhod Sharpshooters, and 10% Companions.  The Huscarls stay planted in front of the Sharpshooters for Def while the Sharpshooters and Knights literally murder everything in the field.  For Sieges, I run 45% Huscarl offense or Rhod Seargents Defense, 45% Sharpshooters, and 10% Companions.  Seriously, I don't even need to fight or call my armies and that team has been so OP for me.  I also only play on the med difficulty setting, but I'm pretty sure it's not that different since I don't even hardly take casualties.

I also think that by not committing to another country, it's funner because you don't have to put up with all the extra BS that comes along with being a vassal for that faction.

Why is everyone asking the same question?  :roll:

Because it's such a debatable topic.

Each faction has it's specialty. Nords have very effective heavy infantry, Swadia have very effective heavy cavalry, Vaegir have the elite archers, Khergits are all mounted (aside from tribesmen), Rhodoks are excellent siege defenders (shields and best xbows), and Sarranids...well, I guess mamlukes are the best they have, but they're perhaps not as good as swadian knights.

Personal pros and cons:
Swadia = Great because of Bastard and Heavy Bastard Sword. One of two crossbow factions (second being rhodok), which is my preferred ranged weapon.
Rhodok = Lots of interesting and fun weapons like the pike, hammers, stick with spike (lol can't remember the names anymore) and the spiked mace.
Nords = Archers get 2handed axes
Sarranid = Cheap archers
Vaegir = uh... I never play them
Khergit = Horse archers

Personal choice.

This and 'the best nation is the players nation'.
Swadia usually loses everything they have rather quickly, unless a human player fights on their side.

Not really, no. It's the matter of personal choice or opinion. All factions have their advantages and disadvantages. If it is considered to be debatable then why not post a reply in already made threads, instead of creating a new one... There are search engines operating on this forum that very handy.

Only join Swadia if you're prepared for a psychological challenge (standing Harlaus' irrational behavior as the realm is under siege from all directions).

For the other factions, it's a matter of troop choices basically.

But yes, this has been commented on > 1000 times earlier (and I don't think this number is exaggerated). It's probably the most common question on this forum.
