Best/Favorite infantry

Hi people!

Which faction do you think has the best melee infantry and what do you think is the best all round infantry unit?
I myself am quite fond of the Battanian Wildling and the Imperial Legionary. To be honest I don't have much experience with the other faction infantry. So let me hear your opinions.

My legionaries tend to die at a faster rate than any other of my Imperial troops.

Really do love the Imperial Bucellari though. Get a few of those and they do absolute bits for your battle!

From a purely "looks" standpoint, I love the Khurzait Darkhan. No idea on its combat effectiveness though because by the time you get them wars are pure chaos.

i have always have some love fer the mercenaries, and i like the look o the Mercenary swordsmen so i usually build up a main body o these guys in my army

Palatine guard. Anyone who takes a spear to the stomach and reacts by campy shooting down the offending rider is a-okay in my book. I love heavily armoured archers, you don't have to worry that a couple of sneaky cavalry ne'er-do-wells gets in amongst them and kill them all.

I like the Sturgian Veteran Warrior and Legionnaires a lot. The Veteran Warriors are well armored and can soften other infantry up with their throwing weapons. If you can get a hold of the Triarii line of troops they are likely the best infantry in the game. I have one and he often kills 5 enemies or more in prolonged battles. I have about a dozen of the Boar crossbowmen and they have great one handed stats. They're like an upgraded Vlandian Sharpshooter, but seem less effective at range than bow archers.

I'd say best melee is a toss up between Triarii and Skolder Veteran Brotva (from the Legion of the Betrayed and Skolderbrotva minor factions).

Best overall infantry unit has to the Battanian Fian Champion. Easily the best archer unit in the game and as Battania has the only non-cavalry special troop line, it makes sense for the best infantry unit to be found here.

Vlandian Sergeant and Khuzait Darkhan look very intimidating but the Legionaries are probably the best all around.

None in this game right now since infantry is severely bugged, once TW fixes infantry mass and formations where cavalry doesn't ride through them like paper-mache I might give the Vlandian Pikemen a go.

As there are no tier 6 infantry I prefer the Skolder Veteran Brotva and there seems to be two variants of that haven't decided which one I like more.

They're both pretty solid. The one has a spear for their main weapon which is eh, but they have good armor, a big shield, and two sets of throwing weapons.

Rescued Peasants that fight for me without pay.

I hide them in the back and use them together with the other 2H Troops to support the infantry once the melee is on.
They do ok for the money.. and if they die they die.
