Best 2 Handed Sword

Grosser Zweihander:
54c
35p
Speed: 90
Reach: 160

Clamshell Cross:
52c
34p
Speed: 96
Reach: 120

Other than the 6 speed, Zweihander is better. And has 40 more reach. I've seen lances with less reach than that. Lmao There's a few other swords that hover around Clamshell Cross that sacrifice a few points in speed and damage for 10 more reach but for the most part Clamshell is one of the best you'll find.
However I've yet to find the Zweihander in-stores, just on Mercenary troops. If you want to use it just turn on debug mode buy it from the item list and be on your merry way.

Caulder I think that the Zweihander is definitly worth using debug to get! Also I think the best bow is the Vaegir Strong bow but I was wondering about that as well? If you can't guess I'm going for the horse archer build, because after I started playing this mod yesterday there seemed so much more room for using the horse archer than in vanilla.

Oh definately 40p bows that only need 5 power draw? Sign me up. Native's best power draw to damage bow was War Bow at only 25p.
However the only chance is that MOST of those 40-ish pierce bows also unfortunately have a 70-ish speed. It's not too noticable with high proficiency, but during the mid 100's to 200 proficiency area you'll notice most other archers will outshoot you either due to:
1. Having a bow with 90+ speed or
2. Generally having higher proficiency: 250+

But you really hit the mark on the Imperial War Bow (I assume this is the Vaegir Strong bow you're talking about?), I think it's real only contender is the Khergit Heavy Bow with 36p and 95 speed. Again it comes down to do you want to shoot a bit faster or hit a bit harder?

The zweihander is hands down the best 2 handed wep in game. I would go further and say its the best wep in general. I've killed over 300 troops in one siege defense multiple times with it. You can get it from the mystic merchant.

Now I wouldn't say it's the BEST 2 handed weapon, best 2 handed sword for sure but weapon? I REALLY love using the one/two handed Large Morning Star. Getting it in the Heavy variant is a 40pierce swinging weapon of DOOM. Defending during a seige, just using 2h overhead swings while troops come up the ladder is such an easy way to get kills. As long as you hit them in the head even troops with shields get hit/killed due to it's Crush Through Block ability.

However attacking during a seige it's reach kinda leaves it a bit lack luster: and I can see where the Zweihander would come handy, what with having the reach of a spear.

Not to mention you can equip a shield with the Morning star while under fire, which especially in floris with 40p bows with more than 5 power draw, and 80p+ crossbows are prevalent and DESTROY you faster than you can say "pincusion".

Well personally I'd have to say that personal preference is what to go by because I personally just like the look and feel of swords but others prefer to use weapons that annihilate all those little buggers behind shields.

Again it comes down to: Do you want more reach/power or more speed?

For 2hand blunt weapons (Wont even consider 1h since 70 reach makes me sad) Sarranid's are faster, or that big ol' Mallet. Lmao Tbh I haven't properly tested/played with the Mallet or Crow Hammer usually found in Veiger territory but I do know from experience and playing Native that the Sarranid 2hand blunt weapons are very useful, and dangerous in combination with high power strike for their usually lowered damage values. Especially considering blunt has some armour piercing capabilities.

To be fair I do remember I ran into a crowd of Veiger Druzniks or whatever their name is, in 2.4 and thinking since I can usually solo infantry of any tier from deserters I tried it. Boy was I surprised, that 100 or so reach and 50+ blunt damage really hurts.

Two-Handed Mace, found in Sarranid lands. 125 long, something like 44b and about 95 speed. 2H, crushes through blocks. It's my baby and I love it though I wish it weren't such an ugly baby.

That's my 2 cents on horse archer 2h.

I'm using a Heavy Crow Hammer. Thought it looked cool, bought it, used it, loved it. It can do massive damage, even against heavy armored units, and can break through blocks. I made a lot of money in the early stages of the game selling high tier prisoners thanks to this weapon. And I also love the bone crushing sound it makes

But it's Unbalanced, so it's slow as hell. You really need to time the strike for good effect. You'll love the moments when you take down the horse AND rider in one blow  (if you've played Prophecy of Pendor, think of the Two-handed Ruby Rune Sword effect)
Best used with a fast horse and maybe carry another faster weapon. Right now I also carry a Two Handed Dark Sword for the "charge into the crowd and hack away"-tactic.

I didn't know about the Sarranid mace. I'm going to try that one out as well.

Yeah, I know those units. I have a bunch of them in my army now.

Never bothered to train them, because I thought they would be crap. But after seeing one of them (from an ally's army) in action against a charging Swadian cavalry unit (took down the horse in one swing, turned around and crushed the rider's head with another...so beautiful, brought tears to my eyes), I had to have them.

I also thought the unbalanced ability was that you were unable to feint attack properly, and that after some attacks you would notice a small character lag.
The crow hammer does have like what? Only 50 speed so that's why it goes really slowly.

This. I thought I could do the ol' ride around and slowly wittle them down. 1 hit and my horse was done, then it took another 1 or 2 hits and I was done. And it's not like they have bad atheletics too, so my archers only got a few shots off before getting mashed.

You're right, the speed makes the weapon swing slow. With unbalanced you can't defend quickly after making an (failed) attack or make a good feint attack. That's why I never use it when I'm not on a horse, and switch to my other weapon. Unbalanced weapons are usually pretty powerful, but they can punish the user as well.

Happened to me when I fought the Khergit. After fighting the Swadians and the Nords for a long time, and erasing both kingdoms from the map, I began to overestimate myself. During a battle, a Khergit cavalry unit charged at me with his sword ready. I thought "Pff, bring it on!" and charged at him as well. He took me out with 1 swing of his sword. Not sure which unit it was, but I saw the sword in a Khergit marketplace, a 2h Khergit Executioner or something.

Lmao yeah. Imagine the 60%+ increased damage you get from running down someone on foot and hitting him. Now double that if you're charging a horseman who's charging you.
Plus Khergit lancer-type tend to have on average power strike, that just adds to the damage. Ouch.

In Native, Swadian knights rein supreme but in Floris the ultimate fire and forget weapon is T5+ Khergits. No tactics, no management, just CHARGE. They scatter all across the field chasing cavalry and then, as if actually coordinated, hit the infantry all at once and from every side.

Now, in 2.5 that might not work with Caba'drin's newly reworked AI formations but I'm eager to find out. But yeah, Two Handed Mace in Sarranid lands is a hoot at the top of the ladder. Just WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP with that 44b, 125 length, 95ish speed. Playing as a horse archer I went up against 40 or so Khergit deserters around T3, mounted, and all of my like 14 people got taken out but I kited them around and shot their horses out and then just circled, circled, circled with that big beautiful mace, swatting them out from under their shields at max range while they helplessly flailed with their little sabers... good times with my mace and me...

Downloaded 2.5 last week. After playing with Swadian, Vaegir and Sarranid forces, decided to choose the Khergit this time on my new game. And I'm really enjoying them! Fighting the Swadians now and doing really well.

Usually during a siege I'm hanging back, taking out most of the archers on the wall, so the rest can get to the top safely.  But damn, those Khergits know how to use their bows. Now most of the archers I target are dead before I release my arrow.

Although I'm still experimenting which units to use in my army, I think I'm converted.....
