This is a mod I've been working on for some time (first started well over a year ago). It's still nowhere near even a first release as I've only just been able to make the map.

It's based on the Belgariad books by David Eddings and will (eventually) follow the major events from the books. At the moment however I'm just focussing on making a playable mod in that world with appropriate troops, lords, companions etc.

Planned Features:

  • New Map - complete
  • New towns, castles and villages - started
  • New factions (14 in total) with lords - started
  • New Troops - complete
  • New items - complete using OSP models but hoping to add unique models later
  • New Storyline - not started (this will be the very last thing I add as it will be the most time consuming
  • Probably some others I'll remember when I've posted this  :P

Looking for modeller to make unique items

I'll upload some screenshots when I find the time.

Before anyone says it, I know this is ambitious and no, I didn't have any modding experience when I started but I'm learning as I go and reckon I can make it work using the forums for help :P

Please post any suggestion/comments/ideas.

Good Luck (Your right about the experience thing, everybody is asking about that ^^)

sounds interesting and i am also pleased to see that its for vanilla Mount and blade too.

Yeah, well I can't afford to spend ~£20 on warband :P

I might make a version for warband later but as the main feature is going to be the single player storyline, I'm not sure there's much point.

Always wanted such a mod. I read the Belgariad some years ago and found it to be a brilliant story. I have yet to read the Mallorean, though.

Will all of the factions be featured? (even such rather obscure ones like Nyissans or Ulgos)

Nyissans will definitely feature as I have already finished their troops. I'll need to tweak the diplomacy to stop them being wiped out though :P

I was planning to include Ulgos but I'm not so sure now. They'll feature in the main storyline and you'll be able to visit Prolgu. Since they don't really interact with the other races in the books, I'm not sure if they should be an active faction.

Also, not sure whether to include Karanda as a seperate faction or group it with Mallorea. I'm thinking it would be better seperate which means another new troop tree. Ah well :)
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

Finally, read the Mallorean - it's at least as good as the Belgariad :)

Ok, this thread and the mod have been dead for a few months since the mod kept crashing on my laptop. Got it sorted now, so I'm starting work again :)

Here are the screenshots I promised. Just a selection of some of the troops I've made. Let me know what you think:

Do you think you could give us some larger pictures? Its hard to actually see anything. Good luck!

Oh God! Only just noticed how tiny they are. I'll upload them again :) Thanks

EDIT: Ok...maybe I can't. I've tried changing the sizes but they still come up the same. Can anyone tell me how to make the pics larger with imageshack?

Well, how did you make em that small?

I didn't :S I just took a screenshot in M&B then uploaded those to imageshack. Doesn't matter too much. I'll just keep working and people can see it when I release the mod :)

No luck. In paint, they're 1366x768 - easily big enough. They just shrink when I upload them. Any ideas?

That is weird. That's all I have to say about it. Well, there are probably easier ways to do it, but I would try this: put the pictures in Word, or paint or whatever. Make em the size you like. Prt scr them in the size you like. paste the prt scr in paint, cut out the part you need and then save that part as a .bmp and then they should have the size you like.
But this is way longer than it should be though. I just don't know how your pics are that small.

 I think I'll just leave it. I'll carry on working on the mod and people can see it when it's finished. The suspense won't do them any harm  :P

Thanks for all the help anyway. I just really can't be bothered fiddling around with screenshots when I could be working on the mod :)
