Being barred from one of my faction's castles!

This is an interesting addition (I've never experienced this before). A lord that doesn't like me has forbidden me and my troops from resting in his castle...upon pain of death. Is this new or been around for a bit?

The lord of this castle has forbidden you from coming inside these walls, and the guard sergeant informs you that his men will fire if you attempt to come any closer.

I believe it's caused by a bug. This never happens even if you beat them in a duel for the honor of a lady. One time I recall entering combat to help a lord, but instead of going to the chat screen with the enemy, it went to the chat screen with the lord. I clicked surrender or die, and my relations with the lord plummetted, then we went to fight against the guy attacking said lord, and he became an enemy lord and I couldnt enter his castle anymore. At the time I was a vassal of the same faction he belonged to.

No, that's not what he's talking about. Read my post above yours again - I edited it.

Yeah. As soon as I told the lord to surrender or die, I couldnt enter and it had that dialogue.

I think any sane lord would forbid his enemy from entering his home!

I had to camp out with my men while Klargus and Plais dined in the great hall with Rafarch

It's not a bug. Consistently, if you have enough negative relation with a Lord (I think about -10), he will not let you into his castles. Never noticed what happens with a town, however.

IIRC this has actually been around since V.950? Maybe even .903
It happened to me after I successfully completed a Nord Rebellion and the “new” king gave the castle that I had
recently captured deep in enemy territory to one of the Nord Lords who hated me because I didn’t give him enough
fiefs during the civil war. I needed a safe place to recover from my wounds and the bastard left me out in the cold!
– And yes this is an interesting feature!

Ah I havent noticed this one.
At least I'll have an excuse if I want to split some of my own lords skulls. Respect and fear be what these silly fools need. They still havent realised that the queen they kneel to is actualy my ***** not the other way around. Fools.

I noticed I couldn't sleep in a place where the Lord had some **** against me. Might want to skip the 'start a new war' quest btw unless you want to get half your faction in the negatives once you finish.

Once a faction is weakened enough to be easily defeated I stop taking their men prisoner (and also don't care if any escape from captivity). Letting a man go earns back some of his respect, and there's a fair chance he will fail to escape from battle at least once more before the faction finally falls. It's also quite possible to never fight a particular lord's party on the world map, in which case his relations will still be at 0 unless you've burned his villages or whatever.

You can also get an easy relations boost by helping another lord in a battle he would have otherwise lost--lords who like that lord will like you more by a few points when you next talk to them, while those who don't like him won't alter their disposition.

Lord Asugan got upset and hasn't let me into his castle ever since Sanjar Khan granted me his village upon becoming his vassal.
It's a nice addition.

all you have to do is requesti a meeting with the lord if you wanna see him, and he will come meet you outside the castle, do some quest for him then you will have access to the castle again.

Ahh but that really sucks for you.  My friend had this happen to him and then the enemy besieged the castle.  The lord didn't let him in and he lost the fief since it is connected to the allegiance of the castle

That is not totally true, only if the quest brings the relation back down to whatever the point is where he doesnt let you in.
