Well i have just taken my first castle but as it is my first character i want to try other factions. if i break my oath to the king will i lose the castle?
if that's the case what happens to the troops garrisoned in it???

Yes, if you renounce your oath you will lose your villages and castles. For the troops garrisoned, I'm pretty sure they will disappear. I mean, where would they otherwise go?

Course if you revolt when he doesn't give you another castle that you captured then you get to keep your land.

I just found out that if you got a castle before you jion a castle you can keep it. I'm though pretty sure that you will loose youre fiefs when you break oath to a King

The only way I know of to keep your lands when leaving a faction, is to rebel against the King or Khan when he refuses to give you a Castle or City that you took and requested ownership of. Doing this will lower your relations with the King, and put you at war with the faction. I've personally done this twice since I've been playing the game, and both times I immediately sought out that faction's claimant and turned it into a "proper" rebellion

If you break your oath to that king, I wonder if you'll get to keep the lands you owned before joining him. I sort of doubt it, but it'd be nice if the game "remembered" you having them before, and they remained yours.
