Happend when I wanted to enter a City. Always full fps. I use the following settings for VC:
Direct X9
Load texture on demand
texture detail = 10
Max frame rate = 80
screen: 1280x1024 32 bit
shadow quality low
enable sound variation
force single threading

Edit: Brytenwalda works w/o any error like any other mod, but VC lets me play max 30 min.

Edit2: Seems like my WB doesnt like the textures, any idea to fix that? Oh and Battle sizer is currently set at 45

Your are using a 32bits OS with low RAM and a weak GPU. Right now you could try the menu hack:

Camp -> Game options -> Enable cheats -> more cheats -> menu off

This way you will use the classic menu instead of the 3D one for towns/castles/villages.

See if that helps.
 
Even if I try that, it wouldn't solve the errors when I want to enter a battle.

Seems like I need to upgrade my PC a bit, but thank you anyway.
 
I read on the first page that you are working to make VC compatible with direct x 7. You know when? I have an old PC that works fine with native Warband (direct x 7), and I hope that soon I will be able to play VC alike. Please, right now I do not have the availability to buy a new PC, and I've already bought VC thinking I could play it like Warband.  :sad:
 
1.04 improved performance a lot, however, pcs with less 4 GB memory or DXT7 could have problems and lag. However, you can try. Open your module.ini and change:
supports_directx_7 = 0
to
supports_directx_7 = 1

You try run the game.

Thanks a lot! It works! Last night I finally managed to play VC, although with several problems:
textures are mostly correct, but the terrain, both during the first / third person gameplay and that on the map is completely white. The water is flat, but that's not much of a problem. Also sometimes the writing of the play become rectangles, the game crashes, the screen displays "RGL WARNING !mater->textures[rgl_mtk_diffusemap]->valid", then return to the game as if nothing happened. Other times the game has crashed with the usual error warband.exe
I was wondering, since clearly my PC does not read the textures of the terrain, how can I replace them with unrealistic ones of Warband, that at least work on my PC? And how can I do to avoid crashes?
 
I've got a fairly new PC and I had the terrain texture problem, too. For me, it was the snow and since you probably started a new game and new games begin in February I guess for you it is the same, so it's not your PC. For me, re-enabling terrain/environment shadows in the in game options solved the problem  (I had them deactivated because of some really big battles I fought in autumn).

Try that, maybe it helps you too.

I had thought about this, but the trees are green, and the map is completely white, in every region. During the first / third person gameplay the ground is white / gray. I tried the game with all graphics configurations, shadows etc., is also quite fluid, but the terrain is too unrealistic. Furthermore remain the crashes / errors problems. Anyway, I will do other tests  :wink:
 
Sadly I can't really help you with the other stuff. The white textures problem sounded like the one I had, thats why I suggested what you can try. Since you have texture problems you could try enabling/disabling "Load textures on demand", that should be in the options.

You should probably incldue the rgl_log.txt in your post and if you can some screenshots of how your game looks. That could help the devs see what may be the problem.

This is a memory problem, difficult to fix, however, you post your rgl_config like Faenwulf said, and try enabling/disabling "Load textures on demand"

Your graphic card is ATI? Could you need to update your drivers?
 
Na, I'm using an Nvidia card. Drivers should have been updated at the time. But as I said for me the problem is solved. I could try to recreate it if I have the time.

Wow, that is definetely a different error. With my error the battlefields would be blaringly white and it would hurt your eyes. Here, it really is missing textures.

The Runtime Error I would attribute to your low RAM. I would say your PC simply runs out of RAM to use while playing and then you get the error, the program is terminated and the RAM usage freed up. I had something similar with my old Win XP PC with 4 GB with another game.

I'll try... thank you anyway! At least I have managed to get a glimpse of the game. I'm planning to expand the RAM to 4GB. Unfortunately I can not change the rest of the PC (I do not have economic availability). Thanks again  :wink:
 
I've uninstalled it at the moment, because it caused lags not only in-game, but also to computer! I'll try when i have 4GB ram. I withdraw for now, but I'll notify you when I try again.  :wink:
 
[Bug Report]

Hopefully i'm unlucky but I have found two bugs

And I haven't messed with any files

Every English town, fort, village I visited, Pagan is the dominant religion.

When talking to Ulf on his farm when asking him not to attest at The Assembly. You chose to challenge the bezerker but I believe Reginald ask you to reconsider, then you choose challenge the bezerker again. This allows you to boost your reputation and renown twice. Definitely not game breaking it's still a bug.
