i tried to change my rgl_config but this run time error keeps stopping me  i even tried to uninstall and reinstall it still same results can someone help me i really want to finish my game

this is the screenshot whenever i tried to finish the main story i always get run time error whenever i click "go to battle" in this scenario(Douar-an-Enez battle)

and when i fight with big armies after that the whole game turns black and when i tried to fight again il get a run time error

Click the button for Auto Adjust (it will create a new rgl_config.txt)

If that fails you can delete the file too (make a backup)


Keep in mind that the game is not compatible with your graphics card (integrated), you should avoid any big battles


And you should really test the Beta as you have Steam

i played the game before and no problem occurred but now it keeps giving me runtime error i even tried to reinstall my visual c++ 2010 still the same results

np, just wait for the release (soon), there are many fixes for performance besides new stuff in it
(still you should check your graphics card if you want to play the DLC with good graphics)

I dare say most (if not all) of your CTD problems come from those highlighted facts. Warband Native works perfectly on a 32bit OS with 3GB of RAM. But anything bigger (and Viking Conquest is way bigger) and it´s like playing Russian roulette, it might work, but you may also blow your head off.

If you can, get yourself a 64bit Operative System.

I guess it's because it's 32 bit that's why I'm getting run time error? Not long ago I reformatted my laptop since my hd was busted so I needed to buy a new hd and my old one was windows 8 64bit I even finish Viking conquest storyine with my old hd and there was no error at all

-Integrated GC aren't supported
-32 bits OS have issues
-Your RAM seems to be partially use. Make sure you don't have any other demanding program running
Then, about your config, change:
start_windowed = 1
render_buffer_size = 256 #This is recommended to increase the performance of those users that have enough RAM. It might create problems otherwise. Decrease and check if it runs without problems.
use_pixel_shaders = 0 #set at 1 and try if it runs better

use_vertex_shaders = 1#set at 0 and try if it runs better
PD: I hardly recommend you to try RE

On 32bit system, your processor cannot take more than 4GB of RAM. 32bit Windows won't let you use more then 2GB per process (VC, for example). This mean that you need to low your game configuration in order to play smooth (see below configuration)

i'll try this setup but im only having problem "Douar-an-Enez battle" when i click enter battle it always crash and i can't progress at all is there a way to bypass this?

I tried this setup but it really crashes everytime i enter battle on Douar-an-Enez battle

This is weird. What battlesize do you have? that battle is sensitive to the battlesize. Set it at minimum if you don't have it and I would recommend you to keep at the minimum with that PC.

i tried the minimum battlesize it still crashes even though i got 235% performance and its 120fps everytime once i enter "Douar-an-Enez battle" the error pop up im losing hope  :sad:

like we mentioned before you could try the beta version (better for that mission), or wait for the release.
Alternative is ask a player to do this quest for you and post the savegame after it (you need to post you savegame here first)

so i tried the new patch and used my old save and continue with "Douar-an-Enez battle" and i didnt crash (cheers for that) im just curious if its better to start a new 1 to get the new features and is there a guide for the new storyline or is it the still the same?

Some features like new questline, dogs, hofs and other will need start new game, rest will work perfectly with your savegame.

Hey, sorry to bother but I've ran into a problem with my save all of a sudden. I don't really expect it can be fixed, but you never know I guess!

I'm on the newest patch with a new save, got to day 68 and saved just before I entered a town. It crashed just after it was done saving and I can't load that save without it crashing when it gets to "launching game". My other saves all work, so it must be something with just that one save. I haven't changed any of the game files or anything, and validating steam files didn't work.

In terms of options I force V sync and load textures on demand.

if you are not playing with ironmode: you have a backup on your saves folder, just rename it to sg00.sav and you can load it in the game

file is named: last_savegame_backup.sav

Does anyone have a problem with the Runtime Error showing up when they upgraded to Windows 10? I'm running on 32-bit.

I went to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager I then clicked on ''Display adapters'' icon which dropped down to show two more icons then checked for updates and after updating it now works.

I learnt about the fix from this post on the forums, how to fix is at the bottom of the page.

Could you share your rgl_config and rgl_log? 32-systems are more delicated.
