Becoming a vassal as a female character

Lords leaving the realm is for balance reasons. Otherwise lords will just be ping ponging between factions and once factions start getting defeated, the remaining factions will have like 80+ lords. Since majority of these will be fiefless, they will just run around the map raiding villages all the time.
Also when a king indicts a lord, he will lose relations with his other vassals. So eventually his most loyal vassals will then start getting indicted, then the faction will be screwed.
This doesn't affect the player kingdom as they can just reject lords.

Didn't think about this in that way and it does make a lot of sense anyway..

Thank you for your answer

You don't automatically get a fief when you join a faction as a woman. When you're male you instantly and always are given a fief when you join. As a female you can only receive them normally, meaning the king chooses you based on renown, honer, relation and number of fiefs you have, all compared to his other vassals. Since you have no fiefs it should be pretty quick to get one unless it's very early game and his vassals are all in good with the king still and you have low renown ext. But since you need extra renown to become a vassal as a female it's probably not super early in game and again you should be a top pick for a fief.

When I first played I read that you need 700 renown to get a fief as a woman, so I got it, but the king still didn't give me a fief when I joined the kingdom. I was very frustrated and eventual restarted as a male. If only I had known that I just needed to walk around a little bit and he would thrown a fief my way. Of course after many more games I've learned Fief is worthless, husband with castle is the greatest advantage possible in Calradia. Store troops for free, take towns and fill em up easily with extra troops, start own faction by talking to husband, give husband more castles in strategic locations, fill with troops for free. To many poor towns? Give em to husband. Poor husband, how can he pay for all those troops?

I've been seeing some people saying that you can't become a vassal of a kingdom ( not like male characters can at least ), but yes you can..

I don't know if it's a bug that occurred with me but when I talked with King Graveth about becoming his vassal he said the usual, that he wouldn't accept my vassalage cuz I'm a woman and yadayada, then I for curiosity decided to press the option that says that even if he wouldn't give me any fiefs I would still want to become his vassal, which made him accept, and after some short time he offered to me a village ( Mechin ) which I obviously accepted, since then he started to give me more and more fiefs ( I've received Shariz, Almerra Castle, Knudarr Castle, Emirin and Mechin until now ) and he even offered me the position as Marshal of our kingdom, which I refused ( cuz being a Marshal's not cool ).

Btw I don't remember which where my stats when all that happened, but I remember I had quite a high renown, honor and charisma ( don't know exactly if charisma and honor have any effect on it anyway ) and also had a high relationship with King Graveth and his vassals.

Try it out and give a reply to me if happens the same thing with u

Same. I actually noticed no difference between playing as a female character and a male character apart from some more options and the ability to unlock more achievements,

I finished the game with all the differents ways and each time, as a Female.
So, I can tell you it is not a bug, you can swear to a king, get a fief. But you just need to have much higher renown to be a vassal.
You can also be insulted (and get renown, if responding (or get in a fight)).
