Becoming a faction leader makes you inept

Some things I don't understand....

1) Why do I have to travel all the way back to the capital to talk to my minister in order to send my companions as emissaries? Why can't I just talk directly to my companions if I want to send them as emissaries?

2) When I bump into the king of a foreign faction in the field, why can't I negotiate truces/agreements/recognition/.etc directly with him? Why must these things be done only through emissaries? I, as faction leader, doesn't have the authority to negotiate agreements with another faction leader? Instead, I must defer to the authority of a subordinate representative (who I can only assign if I travel all the way back to my capital and speak to my minister)?

i think those things should be left to the diplomat, because even if he makes a horrible mistake you can always blame it on the diplomat.
And remember as a king your word is final

You can ask a king for a truce directly actually.

What I personally miss is some possibility to negotiate with prisoners. Either to set them free manually, or to ask them if they join me if I set them free or stuff like this.
I have a problem with an imprisoned lord at the moment for instance, one of my faction (who holds an important castle). He was imprisoned in Vaegirs Dhirim, I convinced the lord of Dhirim to join my kingdom, now Dhirim belongs to me but lord Deglan is still imprisoned in Dhirim without any chance to set him free. This sucks.

It's fun too, that as soon as you become king other factions vassals give you missions which they declined to give to a vassal because they were "inappropriate" for a vassal.
