What sucks for me is that I actually have to shave every day but can't grow a full beard if I choose to.

Beards are lame. Their structure should be identical to head hair instead of the non-dense cluster**** that beard hair is, only then you could grow and tie up as awesome and thick beards like this:

I have read a few things that prove otherwise, and I myself notice that shaving more helps it grow.

Nope. Note any visible hair outside the body is dead tissue. The only way to make it "grow" faster is to kill off the tissue faster. Age is the only way to do that. Or at least the only way that wouldn't involve medical intervention.

No, it only seems that way because the hair tends to be thicker and bristlier close to the skin. So when you go shave, the fresh growth coming through will seem darker than whatever you shaved off. Till it reaches the same length anyway.
