This will be the place for the administration to make announcements regarding the BladeCast Masters.

SERVERS & MODULE

We are working on getting the servers up and the module completed for the tournament. Our aim is to have the module done tomorrow (Thursday) and testing servers Friday. We aim to have all of our servers up early next week. Thanks for understanding.

INVITED TEAMS

We ask that all teams register and before the qualifiers start we will be sending out 4 direct invites to the Main Event. We will be consulting with team captains and resolving any disputes within our team to determine who is directly invited.

RULE CHANGE

Players are now required to play with the same unique Player ID for the duration of the tournament, and this ID must match what is on their team's roster.
§ 13 Player Names, Tags, and IDs

(1) Players must play with the name they are signed up under in the team roster. This follows the three strike policy (warning, one-match ban, ejection).
(2) Players must wear the team tag during official matches. This follows the three strike policy (warning, one-match ban, ejection).
(3) Players must have the same unique Player ID that is on their roster. A player caught using multiple IDs will be ejected from the tournament, and any group of players that are caught sharing an ID will all be ejected from the tournament.
Thanks to Aeronwen for promptly bringing this to our attention.

SERVERS ARE UP

Servers provided by TaleWorlds located in Netherlands. Servers provided by Cheshire Cats Clan located in France. Servers provided by LordMetzger located in Germany. Thank you to all three! All are up. Default PW to enter is bcm - Please test ping and post in the suggestions thread if there are issues. We do plan on restarting these on the daily.

MAP POOL & TIE BREAKER CHANGE

Nord Town has been replaced by San'di'boush.

Factions for tiebreakers will be randomized for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and grand final. A single faction will be randomized for each stage, and will be used by both teams in the event of a tiebreaker.
§ 18 Tie Breaker
(1) With a relative scoring system, ties are acceptable during the qualifying stage. As such, no tiebreakers are required during qualifying matches.
(2) Due to the nature of the main event, no match may end in a draw. Should a match end in a tie after the regular time, a tie breaker must be played.
(3) The tiebreaker must be played on Winterburg. Both teams will pick a faction from the list in Appendix c, these picks can be mirrored. Both teams will play the same faction, randomly selected beforehand by tournament staff for the current stage of the main event. The format will be a first to 3 set, with the winner of the set taking the overall victory.

TEAM SIGN-UP DEADLINE

Team registration will close at 12:00 AM (0:00) BST on Wednesday, 15th August 2018. Qualifiers will begin Thursday, 16th August 2018. Only an even number of teams will play in the tournament.

AN EVEN NUMBER OF TEAMS IS REQUIRED
Teams are added on a first-come, first-served basis. If the total number of registered teams is an odd number, then the last team to sign up will be dropped.

INVITED TEAMS VOTED ON AND SELECTED

We have selected our four invited teams directly going to the Main Event starting August 30th ending September 2nd. Mark your calendars because the Grand Finals will be taking place Sunday, September 2nd at 19:30 BST!

Third Seed: Unity
Fourth Seed: Aequalitas

Please check out Gibby's team previews for the invited teams Here.

QUALIFIERS FORMAT & SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

The qualifier stage format has been decided. All teams in the qualifiers will be randomly assigned to one of four groups, two of which are in the red division and two of which are in the blue division. Each group will have round robin-style scheduling for matchmaking. Teams will play once against every other team in their group on random, predetermined map & faction fixtures. The fixtures are set at the division level, so the red division will have one set of fixtures for each round of the qualifiers, and the blue division will have another set of fixtures. The top team from each group will advance to the main event, and their seed will be determined by their performance relative to the other group stage winners. Because there will be five teams per group, every team will receive a bye for one round of the qualifiers. As such, there will be five rounds of fixtures and each team will play four matches total during the qualifiers.

§ 4 Qualifiers Format

(1) The qualifiers will take place between Thursday, 16th August 2018 and Wednesday, 29th August 2018.
(2) Format and schedule depend on the number of sign ups. The tournament administration will inform all participants after the sign ups have closed on how to proceed. Teams should expect to play approximately four qualifying matches in the stated time period.
(2) The qualifiers follow a group stage round-robin format. Teams are randomly assigned one of four groups, and the groups are separated into red and blue divisions. The divisions have separate fixtures for each round of the qualifiers. There will be five rounds per group, but each team will receive a bye for one fixture during the qualifiers (i.e. there will be 5 rounds, but each team will only play 4 matches). The top team from each group will advance to the main event, with their seed determined by their performance relative to the winners of the other groups.

...

§ 6 Scheduling

(1) All main event matches must take place on the day and time scheduled by the tournament administration. The tournament administration reserve themselves the right to change the schedule.
(2) Teams are not allowed to play main event matches before or after said day and time unless they are explicitly permitted to do so by the tournament administration.
(3) During the Qualifiers, teams are expected to play two matches per week. If a team fails to play two matches within a week (measured incrementally from the beginning date of the qualifiers) then they must provide evidence of a good-faith attempt to schedule their match. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the match. Any match that remains unplayed at the end of the qualifiers will be considered forfeit by one or both teams (depending on aforementioned attempts to schedule).

TIE BREAKER CHANGE

Tie breakers will now be used during the qualifiers. See below:
§ 18 Tie Breaker

(1) Due to the nature of the tournament, no match may end in a draw. Should a match end in a tie after the regular time, a tie breaker must be played.
(2) Tiebreakers during the main event must be played on Winterburg. Both teams will play the same faction, randomly selected beforehand by tournament staff for the current stage of the main event. The format will be a first to 3 set, with the winner of the set taking the overall victory.
(3) Tiebreakers during the qualifiers must be played on Winterburg. Format is a first to 3 set, with the winner taking the overall victory. Both teams will play the same faction, which must be faction A from map A for their fixture.

RULE ADDITION

Teams are now explicitly permitted one banner change during the qualifiers. Teams are now explicitly not permitted to change their team name once the qualifiers have begun. A hard deadline has been set on roster changes.
§ 8 Team Rosters

(1) Every team must provide the tournament administration with a roster consisting of eight to ten players and their respective in-game IDs at least 24 hours before the first qualifying match. Teams that fail to do so are not eligible to play in the tournament and will be eliminated.
(2) Teams may make changes to their roster until their first qualifying match has been played, or midnight BST Saturday, 18th August, 2018 (which comes first). After that, no roster changes are allowed. This includes player transfers and additions.
(3) In the event of a team dropping below the minimum number of players ( while the tournament is on-going, an emergency roster addition is allowed, provided that the new player has not yet played in the tournament. If a team drops below the minimum number of players again, then they will be disqualified.
(4) Teams are not allowed to change their team name or tag once the qualifiers have begun.
(5) Teams are permitted to change their team banner one time during the qualifiers, which must be approved by an administrator.

Odin, Eduard & Nessa Banned

All three players were found to be using illegal modifications to gain an advantage in a public Warband server. Valid proof was provided to the administration and we are confident in exposing them. They are banned for the duration of the tournament and possibly from all further BladeCast events (pending review).

Eduard is removed from referee status.

ID 3451640 is also banned from tournament servers for joining a team (spectating) without being on either team.

RULE CHANGE, TYPO FIX, AND SPECTATOR LIST

Teams are now permitted to use their emergency substitution at any point (not just when they drop below 8 players) but are still limited to one for the duration of the tournament. To clarify, the emergency substitution is for your team roster and not for replacing a player who has crashed in a match.
§ 8 Team Rosters
...
(2) Teams may make changes to their roster until their first qualifying match has been played, or midnight BST Saturday, 18th August, 2018 (whichever comes first).
(3) Teams are permitted one emergency substitution for the duration of the tournament. This substitution may be used at any time outside of a match to add or replace one player on the team's roster. In the event of a team dropping below the minimum number of players ( while the tournament is on-going, they must use their emergency roster substitution. Any team with fewer than 8 players and no remaining emergency substitution will be disqualified.
...

Finally, all approved spectators must be listed in match results posts, and it is strongly recommended that they be included in match announcement/booking posts. Otherwise, these spectators risk being banned from all tournament servers. If they are members of a team in the tournament, then they are subject to the tournament rules regarding spectators.

REMATCHES

After a brief discussion among the tournament administration, it has been decided that teams which defaulted in the qualifiers will be granted the opportunity for a rematch for matches they defaulted in, granted the following conditions are met:
  • All of their matches for the qualifiers are completed.
  • The qualifier deadline has not been reached (24:00 BST Wednesday, 29th August 201:cool:.
  • The opposing team's captain agrees to the rematch.
The result of the rematch will be considered the final result for the match. If a team fails to show up for the rematch, then the original result stands.

RULE CHANGE

Teams are no longer obligated to match players in the event of a player dropping unexpectedly. It is still recommended to match players as a courtesy. Bear in mind, teams are still required to field at least 7 players at all times, and must start matches 8vs8.

§ 14 Match Format

...
(3) Matches should be played 8vs8. Teams must field 8 players before the match starts or forfeit the match. Teams are obligated encouraged to begin each round with the same number of players. If a player has crashed, a team is allowed to start a round with 7 players. In the event that a team has fewer than 7 players at the beginning of a round, they will forfeit the remainder of the set. If they cannot find a substitute within the minimum 5 minute wait time between sets, then they will forfeit the match.

QUARTER-FINAL SCHEDULING & BOOKING MATCHES REQUIREMENT

We are loosening up the requirements on when the quarter finals can be scheduled. The rules state:

(1) All main event matches must take place on the day and time scheduled by the tournament administration. The tournament administration reserve themselves the right to change the schedule.

The rules will be updated shortly but as long as you get your match done by Midnight (24:00) BST Friday that's fine by us! Defaults WILL happen if you can't play on Thursday or Friday.

For the entire Main Event we are also requiring teams to post when their match is happening in the Servers & Booking thread. The sooner the better. This is for streaming purposes.

Good luck!

PICK NIGHT DATE CHANGE FOR FINALS

The ban/pick night for finals will be happening today on Saturday September 1st instead of Sunday September 2nd. This will occur around one hour after the last semi final match is completed. It will either be streamed or a thread will be posted. More info to come later today.

§ 7 Maps & Factions

...
(2) Maps for the Grand Final will be determined by a pick and ban event held on Saturday, 1st September 2018 after the second Semi Final. Factions will be determined in advance. The concerned teams will be notified on how to proceed.
