Sergeant at Arms
I just purchased Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and it's safe to say that I will never play Call of Duty again, unless I'm hanging out with a bunch of friends. Battlefield is just a much better designed and more realistic game. The only downside is that there is no splitscreen. In my opinion, that is the only reason it's not as popular as CoD. Hopefully they'll add in splitscreen for Battlefield 3, which is going to be EPIC.

Have ya'll seen the videos of the new game engine they're using? Amazing.

M&B should have destructible environments. Even though there are no explosions. Or catapults. Or battering rams. Or really anything that would cause enough damage to make destructible environments worthwhile. It would basically be a complete waste of time for the developers. BUT, it would still be cool.

Really, the whole thread so far is stupid. Just let this die or some admin lock it.

Mount and Musket actually had destructible buildings. Was cool stuff.

that could be awesome, considering it's a gunpowder mod. I might have to check that out

Both of them involve you playing as Wolverine Mk. II in ____ (Theater of war), say what?

Not going to happen. EA wants you to buy more games and consoles, so they'll never add splitscreen.

It looks pretty, but frankly this is an M&B forum, I doubt most of us are too interested with the graphics.

You opinion is now invalid.

Battlefield BC is awesome. I've never played the recent modern combat CoD series, but from what I could see on youtube, very little of it has anything else to do with running around and shooting other players with no strategy or teams whatsoever on maps you could probably fit into a moderately sized house.
I guess you could say the Arma series is the best out of all the shooters, but the the Battlefield series always had the perfect mixture of size of the field to the objectives needed to be taken in that game. In short, well made maps that don't squish everybody onto a tenth of a square kilometre.

I totally agree, CoD is just who can shoot the most accurately while running. That's about it. Unless you're a camper.....

Arma is awesome, I love the build of the game, the scale, everything. The problem is it's actually.... too realistic to be that fun for me. I mean, walking for 20 mins to be randomly sniped kind of sucks. Like I said, I love the game, but I just can't bear (bare?) to play it for more than an hour or two.

Battlefield is much better, the maps are cooler, the combat is more strategic and the destructible environment and vehicles makes it so much better. There are few things funner than shooting down a helicopter charging at you firing rockets all around you only to kill the pilot with a pistol. Heavy Metal is the best map of them all, ecspecially for a sniper/mortar kit. Hiding in the mountains calling mortars on enemy occupied bases or helicopters that are about to take off.

I was only speaking in the past tense because I haven't played it in a while. Should still have destructible buildings though.

I can guarantee you splitscreen did not affect the overall sales of blops. The game could of been the People Can Fly's 'Duty Calls' parody and people would still have eaten it up.

You also missed out on a lot of battlefield goodness starting off on BC2, to follow the topic title's format
2142 > 1942 > BF2 > BC2 > BC > Heroes

BC is still fun, it just doesn't feel totally battlefieldy

There is no Siege anymore though. Thre was in Musket Madness, have yet to see it in MM

PR is the only thing in the battlefield franchise worth playing.

((Exceptions drawn for FH2 ,FH, and 1942, which are merely 'decent' in comparison))
