Battle Tactics

I've looked high and low for a mod that simply implements formations into gameplay.  I ask no more.  I am surprised to find that no such mod seems to exist for Warband, when the lack of formations seems to me to be the most blatantly obvious problem with single player battles.

Does anyone have an idea where I could look for a resolution to this problem?

There was one for the original M&B, might still work (doubt it though).

I'm sure someone will make one eventually if they haven't already.


The main problem with the old formation mod was that it used heaps of CPU power so you had to reduce your battle sizer which... defeated the point of using the mod, really.

Also the formation was bound to one of the units as a leader. When the leader dies the group has to reform, then If the new leader dies It has to reform again. People were stopping cav charges by just shooting the formation leader, and repeating that process rendering the formations useless.

Which was a shame, I love formations.

You could put your units into all of the different groups, and with heavy micromanagment you will be able to pull(some)formations. But it's a slow and not very practical way of doing it. If the enemy is all cav you pretty much won't have time to do it properly until they charge you.
