I tried getting battle size changer to work, but I kept getting an error that it couldn't detect Mount and Blade after installing battle sizer changer v1.0.4 after installing new Mount and Blade v0.804.

The path to the files probably changed for .804, I'll check on it and should release an update within a few hours.

Thank you and I look foward to your updated version of battle size changer, Im so used to having more than 140 people in battles, which bought me more immerse feeling of medieval world.

I just checked and the path is still the same as far as I can tell, and it's working on .804 for me.

Two questions then:
1. Have you run .804 and gotten into the game at least once (not just the initial menu)?
2. Are you running Win98?

It worekd perfectly right after I redownloaded Mount and Blade V0.804 (full version), the first downloaded file was probably a corrputed file.  And by the way I have iwndow xp home editor with service pack 2 as my OS.

And again, I thank you for these useful tools that changes the battle size, my hat goes off to your creative work on these tools!

Thanks a lot Janus and the original creator, this makes M&B so much better!

It'd be nice to see how well other people's comps run using the battle sizer.  What are your computer specs (RAM and Proc most important) and how many guys do you play with?

AMD 3800+ X2, 2.0ghz
1gb ddr2-800
7900 GT

Currently playing with 150 men and at a full battle while looking at the chaos, I get around 10-20 FPS.

Also, just out of curiosity, does your video card matter at all when upping the battle size?

The video card does matter to some extent (that's a lot of polys), but since the game has to handle AI for each new combatant as well the CPU can certainly be a limiting factor. As for just how important the CPU or video card is in the mix, I really don't know.

Obviously the cpu and ram are going to take the biggest hit from increased battle sizes but it would be interesting to see what happens when you couple a fast proc with some integrated or low-end gpu.

I dont know what is up with my problems Im having with battle size changer after fresh installing M and B v0.806 freshly and I got an error saying it couldn't find mount and blade...?

I'll try redownloading and reinstall and let you know if I still get an error trying to open battle changer size in main mount and blade folder or not.

UPDATE:  I am very embrassed to realize that I forgot to run mount and blade while trying to open this tools, and shame on me for not starting M and B in first place where it would have created option.dat.  Now these tools are working, and from now on, i better make sure i dont ever forget to run mount and blade first before installing your tools, each time I install new version of mount and blade.

Well how do you increase party sizes then? (without leveling)
You mean how many troops the player's party is limited to? Of course it's mainly limited based on your leadership skill. You could cheat and raise your leadership skill. Alternately I think you could go into the module folder of the mod you're playing (or Native), edit module.ini, and raise the "skill_leadership_bonus". I haven't verified that though.

It's not working for me.. I'm using 751 and is in the directory.  I downloaded the one from your link.

I installed in reinstalled many times.

wont let me download it, im getting an error message.
Until the various domain name servers propagate the new IP address for the Repository site it will be down (could take several more hours even), however since the subdomain mirrors are working you can use this link to download it for the time being until the main domain is working again:

Very similar spec (except 2ghz C2D), drops to low 20s with 150-160 troops on screen. That is at max settings, 1600x1200 res. Haven't tried a seriously large battle on .808 yet but I handled 200 no problem on .751. I usually restart my system running only essential processes but don't for m&b so that would probally see an improvement.

When I finally get a chance to try bigger battle with my new computer, I have these following pc parts:

Intel core 2 duo 2 E6600 2.4 ghz with 4 mb cache (I know this wont do much because M and B doesn't use the features of dual processor for now)
2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM 800 mhz
768 MB Geforce 8800 GTX
3 gig/s 500 gb SATA II Hard Drive with 7200 RPM and 16 mb cache

I will see how well I can run battle at 250 and will report to you guys.

As you probally know c2d is extremely overclockable so it could do plenty oif you wanted it to
