Battle of Fulda Gap - Wargame: Airland Battle Campaign

A mechanised column would have an average speed of maybe 20 mph across such a distance if all the vehicles were the same and never broke down.

Alright then. Assuming my column moves at 20mph (which I believe you made up) it would take 15 hours to get there. Well you're going to have to stop for gas and breaks, well let's add 3 hours. Totaling vehicles that broke down (which isn't a very common occurrence since these are all well maintained military vehicles) I guess we could add 4 hours at the most. That's 22 hours. Still under a day.

Please cite your sources here? That and the one that says mechanized columns don't move faster than 20mph?

Even so the journey would take less than a full day. And Canada has been away for four days.

So the men don't need to eat? Sleep? Resupply? They don't need to be briefed on orders? The vehicles don't need maintenance? Even if it's a day to get there it's another day back as well.

This is, of course assuming that the campaign has thus far been proceeding in real-time, which it hasn't. Odysseus being away could theoretically be explained in several ways, no need to get all crazy about it.

Still takes less than a day, and Canada's been out of the fighting for 4 days.

I'm pretty sure the campaign has been proceding in real time. But the latter piece is very true. Canada went to the Netherlands before returning to the fighting. That's it. End of story.

Not sure why this Netherlands thing is such a big deal, I probably won't even mention it in the out-of-game campaign story

Hitson is just trying to pick a fight.
Sir Hitson Winsler 说:
You are clueless.
Sorry for winning.

When he comes into threads I make he usually does that. Especially when he's not even active in the thread's purpose.

But that does not change the fact that image of battlegroup going to refresh and reinforce 1000 km away in few days is strange.

Wow I'd expect that behaviour from younger people 'sorry for winning' ...
