SP Native Battle Morale (v1.5 for 0.960Native)

Users who are viewing this thread

OMG good job dues one of my wish is done by you...

I always wanted morale and fatigue effect in M&B...

Otherwise every soldier fights like hashhashin / Kamikaze until death...

and no idea of fatigue ...

one should consider it to apply fatigue effect in m&b ....

I have fought with Khergits more than 12 turns until I captured Sancar....

My reknown doubled-tripled-an so... became more than ten times because in m&B everyone uses infatigue ixir

one question:

As historically mercenaries were more likely to rout than loyal or professsional armies..

have a chance to apply ?

As I read from your threads more unlikely......

Anyway good job chel

Is there a way to set them to retreat a certain distance back, or even a certain distance back from the nearest enemy? the backing off to the walls is kinda annoying and ends up screwing them over since they have nowhere else to run.

they're not supposed to retreat to the wall/end of the map. they are supposed to keep running from place to place in 1/16th of the map, around their corner. Is that not happening?

Chel, talk to the guy behind "Cries of War" to see if both of your sounds can be a single package.

Also, any plans to make it so they have a chance of leaving battle totally, and not returning to their army at all?

i had that happen once... with a bunch of khergit horse archers... pissed me off xD i ended up using a special weapon i added and blew the bastards heads off (it was a gun that used bolts). But most of the time they just keep retreating or their dead before their able to.

Is this mod compatible with Realistic_Steel_Textures_2.0? I seem to have a fair bit of white textures showing up my troops.
thnx in advance.

should work fine. white textures might be a problem with RST2.0, I remember reading something about it.

Is there any way I could combine this with Craftmod? I have just about 0 knowledge of coding or source codes, but if the instructions are laid out in front of me I can follow them.  Is there any such guide as to how I might combine the two? And, would it be save-game compatible if I already started a Craftmod game?

as far as im aware of the craftmod doesnt do anything to the AI so if you can get the module system for craftmod you just have to do whats at http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,38237.0.html

btw if the mod your using has anything like custom formations or other such things then it could cause problems because the troops are forced to a certain position and wont flee, Craftmod doesnt that i know of so it should be fine for you.

Thank you kindly.

But something is striking me as odd... there are a lot more files in the full Battle Morale download than just the two that are to be tweaked in that guide. Aren't the rest of those important or used? Also, is that source code outdated since the release of .960 and 1.5?

The full mod contains all of the mod files (most should be pretty much the same as Native though, but you need them to play it) and also the module system used to make it, the module system that comes with it has a slightly different code than to the one in the link i gave you so it would be better to use it from there than to use it from that link, as Chel stated on the second page.

Just go into the module system that comes with the Battle Morale mod and look for the code, then copy/paste it to the same location in the module system for another mod of your choice.

This mod can conflict with others though not in any really problematic ways, the main problem would be if you were to use it with custom formations such as the ones here http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,34685.0.html

If you were to use it with those formations then the troops would be forced to the location where the formation is and NOT to flee, but if the leader flee's the entire army will follow so it can be pretty amusing sometimes. It may also cause problems with other such code, ones that use the hotkeys that the battle morale does (easily corrected) and other things which force troops to a certain location.

-----This part you dont HAVE to read unless your interested----
Now, if you were to change the code a bit you might be able to do a check on the morale of the army so if its below a certain point that army cant select another "leader" and so cannot enter any formations (below 50% maybe?), this would allow you to use both of them and also make it a bit more realistic. I'd do it myself or see how it could be done but unfortunately im not very knowledgeable with python and only know enough to do various edits and such.

I was wondering, since i was just playing around in the module folder, there was add'ed some new sounds, but in the "module" text file they wherent activated to be used, just wondering why?

They run away, they do fight back (if attacked) but not as effectively as else.

If you want working together and fleeing look for Mirathei's Battlefield Tactics kit, by my suggestion he decided to combine Chels Battle Morale with his Formations and is currently working out any bugs and such (only ones ive seen are more minor annoyances than bugs).

Links ftw! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,34685.0.html
