Batch image converter

I'm looking for a program I can use to convert a whole lot of images at once. Are there free applications around that do this? Without watermarks?

Good ol' IrfanView's batch conversion/rename thingie has always done the trick for me.

My dad always used Siren because it was fast to load (it's a dedicated image renamer) and easy to use. Type in the desired name followed by %n, select all, press the button, and hey presto.
