Great video, especially for a first. I have no idea if it was what you were going for but the whole historical battles type video with the graphics was a lot more interesting than others I've seen that are just reading a wiki page or whatever.

Thank you! That is indeed what I was going for, it takes a good deal more time to record, edit, and animate, but in my opinion the end result makes the effort worth it!

Thanks guys, glad you like it! I should be releasing new videos very soon as well

Nice, this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for a week ago! This is gonna help me in setting up the history for my first character. Much obliged.

Im not sure if I just missed this part of the video, but its my understanding that before the death of the Emperor, Vlandia was still part of the Empire, and split around the time the rest of the Empire split in 3. The video made it look like they were already independent by the time of the interegnum.

I would love to see if Baravenos (Praven?), which was the Imperial capital and got recently conquered by the Vlandians, will look Imperial or similar to other culturally Vlandian towns. Lorewise its always been so wierd to see cities that were supposed to have been conquered a couple decades ago already completely transformed, like the Khergit cities

I believe that Vlandia has been split for a little longer, when they split from the Empire their king was Osrac Iron Arm and the current Vlandian ruler is King Derthert. According to the wiki "However, upon taking the throne, he spent most of his reign simply putting down revolts, quashing pretenders and keeping the fractious barons and counts in line." which makes me believe that he's been ruling for a while. I will admit I'm still not entirely certain either, but to the best of my knowledge, the Vlandians had split earlier.

I would also really like to see Baravenos, I can't find anything that could possibly be it, and Praven is "Pravend" in Bannerlord.

I'm not certain on all this myself, but I believe I remember reading that this wasn't the first interregnum for the Empire. I assume when they speak of Osrac taking advantage, it was in the most recent interregnum before the current one.

This was really good man, I'm glad to see we got more people making quality stuff in the community (y)(y)

I wish! It's from some of the artists over in the Creative Unit Aesthetics thread

Too bad  They are well made though. Whatever the video is a great summery for the faction lore. I really hope that TW added different political systems for the factions. It seemed always "boring" to me, that all the factions in Warband had the same political order (one ruler, some lords). But in Bannerlord the whole calradic civil war is about different political systems and ideas. I really hope that the Senate faction is an actual republic e.g. and maybe the Aserai and/or the Battanians have elective monarchies or something like that.

Yeah, I looked it up and am even more confused now. The Vlandia dev blog says " It was not difficult, during the recent interregnum, for Osrac Iron-arm to declare himself king, independent in all but name. He seized the imperial capital of Baravenos and the lands along the coast, and that was how the west was lost to the empire. ", which seems to contradict the wiki (unless this "recent interregnum" is a completely different one?) . I dont know if we have a specific time for the Empire's spliting, but it probably was around a decade before the game start, maybe less, so relatively little time for all this story of conquest, and stabilisation (not to mention changing kings). I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of this changed over time, the blogs are 2 years old by now.

I would guess Pravend is just Baravenos in vlandian (very wierd for recent vassals of the Empire to change the name of the equivalent of Rome lol)
