I believe as graphics in Bannerlord not will be demanding as that of Kingdom Come Deliverance

With all the talk about optimizing the game in the recent dev blogs I don't think low end computers will be a problem

Minimum system requirements posted on Steam are generous, also I wait Bannerlord than any modern RPG, because my tastes are for a strategy RPG as Warband and Bannerlord

I would save for a new GPU at least (wait until the game is out to buy it, even if it is a used one). You can buy earlier generations for cheap, like as a example: compare a new Nvidia 1060 with a 760 (price) today.

I will build a SLI with 11xx generation (unless the game is late and we get the 12xx gen lol) for my 3 monitor setup (hopefully it will support multi screens).

I will probably pre-order. Guys, i'm not lying, i've been literally dreaming with this game. Seriously, I had more than one dream where I was playing Bannerlord. I don't know if I could hold back the anxiety and wait for reviews, patches and etc... I want it so much, and I have no doubt that it will kick ass.

I shall most likely get two copies. One digital so that I can play it as soon as it is available and one physical to add next to the other M&B games. Then prob give the extra key to a friend or maybe sell / trade it. Hopefully we will get the map in the physical version like we got with the early M&B release.

I’d be surprised if Bannerlord releases with a physical copy option. Where would you even buy it nowadays?

I am pretty sure I heard them say that they will come with a physical copy. I can not find the exact quote right now tho.

There still are a lot of places here in Turkey that sell boxed games , films etc. In fact , that is how I got my copy of Witcher III GOTY Edition last month.
It is still very popular here , perhaps because of the ridiculous download/upload speeds we got . The best Internet speed I can get is 4Mbit down / 0.6Mbit up. Even if I paid a fortune.

Here if anyone wants to feel good about themselves :lol: ;

unless you are capped (how many GB/month), that is not horrible (but you will need to wait a couple days to play the game).

it is likely any boxed copy would still require a patch of like 20 GB or more anyway

It takes 1 hour to download 1gb. Not sure how that is not horrible. I have been stuck with this bull**** of a speed for my entire life. Ever since I knew internet(about 10 years ago) I had about the same speed.
When playing online games , I get insane lags if there is a slight connectivity issue or another app uses a little bit of the internet speed I already got.
Perhaps you are mixing Mbit with MByte . 3Mbit is 300kb/sec and 30Mbit is 3MB/s - After reading again I think  you did not mix them. Still amazed how you think that it is not horrible.

After I download 100GB of data my speed gets down to 3Mbit from 4Mbit .

Even if a boxed copy required tons of updates , it's still better than waiting another 20-30 hours for the base game to download and use your cap.

I preferred a boxed copy because downloading from Steam take so long, for example I've reinstalled Warband and take two days, boxed version will take 10 minutes or few depending on PC. I how playing mosrly mods, I hope as modding allow modders to create masterpieces similar to Pendor, also players to have ability to tweaking game

The new modding system in the game sounds really promising.

  • C# Scripting.
  • Developer Tools.
  • Multiple Mods at once (Like Skyrim).
  • Extremely Moddable game and a powerful 64 bit engine , where almost everything is made considering modders

I really understand nothing from modding.
How much can we mode a game ?
Bannerlord for example, can we make an rts strategy game like age of empires by modding bannerlord ?

Here in the US we can't buy most PC games in-store anymore. Plenty of console games in the big retail stores but not PC games.

I said "not horrible", I didnt say "it is great" . Yes it could be a lot better. I currently have 100/100 (down/up), couple years back it was 60/6 (down/up). 10 years ago was 15/1. Back in 2000s I had 1/0.1.

Lets say Bannerlord takes 50GB download ... that would be 2 days. So not that bad, in special if they allow pre-loading (Steam does that) before release. Of course the famous 1-day patch can be nasty and easily go to 10-20 GB which would still mean a 1 day waiting for you.

A alternative is to go somewhere else (shopping, lanhouse), either free or paid, and use their connection on your notebook/PC. You can always move the files to another PC later.

Box is not a bad idea, but do keep in mind some vendors are just putting the Steam key in the box and forcing you to download it from there (DVD is pretty much empty).

On lag: check your router for QoS and put your gaming rig on priority, that will stop other stuff from getting in your way. You can also prioritize network on your PC in case you are doing multiple things (downloads and gaming).

We will only know when we have it own our hands. It seems that would be indeed possible (based on the modding blog), but do keep in mind that would be similar to just using Unreal/Unity3d to make a game... you start from zero/nada. The point about mods is that we can use a lot of TW work (like AI code, UI, animations, assets, and so on) to make a small project (mod made by one or few people). Bannerlord is taking several years with a ~70 team size. You wont see a mod with that scope/size from nothing in a different genre.

you can create your own backup for Steam games (just like having a installation DVD/DVDs), you dont need to download it again unless you want to (which is much easier). Steam has the option to verify game files which takes care of updating/patching your backup.

Not trying to be an ******* but ,
I said I would get online key specifically just for downloading earlier and playing asap. And boxed version just for keeping it.
I only said that boxed versions are still popular because of the internet issues.
I did not ask for an advice or was not trying to make myself look miserable. Having used this internet for so long that I know what I am doing. yet, you still can not prevent it from being horrible.

Gaming is very terrible because of the instability of the infrastructure (also , 4 houses use the same port on the provider side) , you get waves of pings. A ping with a server that is in the same city as you can get as high as 300 , sometimes 900. You can not prevent that. You are under estimating how bad old technology can be and assuming everything works.
Today when I open CS:GO or Warband and join a server 15 mins later my connection gets all laggy. Not because I have something downloading in the background.

Let me give you a some idea on why the speed is bad , On twitch I have to watch on 360p. A web page load takes 20 seconds. On youtube I have to watch on 480p. And since most of my purpose for watching youtube is for work , I can not read **** with all the pixels that does not exist. When I open a video , I have to leave it open for a while to load.

Maybe because you have not tasted how terrible 300kb/years of old technology and infrastructure can be in such a long time that you do not think it is bad. Today a movie can be 7-15 GB. But , I can instead watch 360p-480p tho I guess and live like its 2000s and not understand most of the movie. Or maybe leave the computer open for a day wasting electric money and time. Considering I work from home I have to use the computer all the time. That is not an option to me to leave the computer to download some thing. It basically disables my work. If I were to download it just when I am not doing anything it will be done in 2 days.

I am not even gonna talk about upload. That is almost non existent. To use cloud for my work I have to leave it in the background for days.

I would consider all of that horrible. Being stuck in tens of years old technology is in fact horrible. You can do this or that to pray that its gonna be somewhat steady does not make it any better. Yet , worse.

From where you are standing , not having to use this bull**** internet your entire life , it does not seem horrible. You can go ahead and say "hmm , 4 days to download bannerlord does not sound bad. also I guess I could go to lan house and pay to download from there" But for someone that is in my shoes that had to go through with it their entire life they would say "omg everyday this bull**** when is this gonna end." Because it is not limited to Bannerlord only or gaming only. It effects said persons' entire life. Be it work or entertainment.

I could go on forever with this.

That can be a problem for sure. It is not legal on my country to share the router (even on a building), I am sort of surprised on this one. Still QoS properly setup on that router would keep things fair for all 4 houses and avoid crazy pings, so check that out. Unless you are talking about the provider distribution of the network, which would just make them terrible at their job.

if your base connection is bad for live Youtube then you should pre-load (or download the videos), in special for work. Unless you are doing a stream, you dont need to use the default buffer. That way you can get 720p or more, whatever works best.

I still use slow connections on ocassion, in special when at the beach. So I do feel the pain . My house/work are with 100/100 so no issues there, but vacations days require some prep before hand lol

Unless you are watching 4k movies, you should be fine with a ~700MB movie-length video (~90minutes) for full HD (1080p). Why 15GB?

I'll be dumbfounded if it ever releases at all.
