This may or may not be the correct forum, admins, please feel free to move the post to the proper location.
I'm curious as how to remove a ban.
I'm also curious if it's within an admin's intended role to kick and ban players for playing the game.
I believe, most of the time, players get banned who deserve to, and that's when they're disrupting testing, being disruptive, or causing havoc and intentionally griefing on the server. I definitely am not the sort of player to scream "ADMIN ABOOSE" when the player deserved the punishment. However, I strongly disagree with kicking and banning a tester because an admin disagrees with the player not attacking the target the admin wanted, even if it was not feasible.
I was in the NA battle server, at which point a certain "BOLO The Bear" kicked me for the reason of me not engaging the target he wanted me to, but instead, moving onto a more advantageous target; I had an enemy fighting a friendly player in close quarters, and did not want to charge and get my horse rearing and killed because of it, so I moved on to the next target to kill him -- I was kicked before I could reach him. The admin, "Bolo_The_Bear", had even previously implied that we were "dueling nazis", which not only is abusive language, but not acceptable behavior from an admin. Kicked from the server that I have been playing in for the last few months, providing feedback, and doing a lot of testing for Taleworlds. Many, many people have played with me here, and know that I never break rules, nor do I infringe upon the testing process.
I understand an admin's role is to make sure the beta testing process is not infringed; however, kicking and banning someone because you don't like their "honorable" play style when they choose, at times, to allow an enemy to fight if he's already engaged, and choosing to pick another target. All players on the server had been, for the past 6 hours or so, letting the last player from each time take the remaining enemies one at a time -- Partly out of respect, as all the players in the server have been playing for quite some time, and know each other, but also to further balance out and test the new weapon speeds/mechanics. This is not infringing upon the testing process, nor is it breaking rules, it's simply a gameplay decision. I reflected this in my questions when I re-joined the server after being kicked randomly -- I mentioned to the admin that me being kicked for choosing to engage another target was like being kicked for blocking an attack. It has nothing to do with server rules, the beta testing process, nor am I hurting anyone else in any way whatsoever. To further prove my point, when I killed my next enemy, I stated "Well, guess you better kick him too, for dying", further illustrating the foolishness of kicking players for naturally occuring gameplay mechanics, attempting to illicit a further explanation of the legitimacy of the original kick. Instead, the admin Bolo_the_bear banned me because his pride felt hurt.
This incident was absolutely nothing more than a random admin I've never seen before not liking players allowing other players fair chances at fights. When questioned about kicking me because of it and after I illustrated his reasoning for kicking me as childish and uncalled for, he used his admin rights for personal gain, to force players to play how he saw fit, and to win what he saw as an "argument" by permenantly banning a long-standing well mannered, well-respected and well-known player for no other reason than not killing the target the admin wanted me to kill.
This is flagrant abuse of power for personal gain, and I hope this is not the sort of admin TW hopes to hold in these esteemed positions. This occurred at roughly 6:30-6:40 AM, CST.
I hope this is investigated, and I also hope to be reinstated to playing ability on US_S3, the battle server.
Destin, and nK_Littleguy were present at the time of my ban, and I'm sure they will fully vouch for the verity of my statements.
Once again, I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I'm not sure where to post this issue.
