So I did a tour of the European servers yesterday evening and found a couple of troublemakers on EU_S1. They threw around remarks related to racism, but I wasn't sure what to make of it. I kicked 6thLegion_Fisher once, but think that I was to lenient. I'd like to have the opinion of other admins on this matter. I'm not sure how to deal with the actions of the players 6thLegion_Fisher, Cleaning_Agent and Raven. As the simple mention of Jews isn't racism, I wasn't sure what to do. After reviewing the logs however, I think that 6thLegion_Fisher and Cleaning_Agent wanted to be annoying and used those remarks for that. Fishers suggests towards the end to leave before I ban them permanently, which shows that he was aware of his actions and the possible consequences. Actually when reading the log I become rather sure that I should have just banned him permanently for racism...

Despite the rather flippant nature of their discourse, I think a ban was justified. Your cautious approach to the situation was the best choice, however, as it's always better to kick than ban when in doubt.

you won't catch everything every time. Admins cant read teamchat or dead chat, so don't fret it if a few things slip by you. Just try to be consistent, and remember the rule of thumb: kicks are harmless with no lasting effects, whereas bans can have problematic effects. You weren't sure what to do, so you used kicks, which was a smart thing to do. Yes, a ban could have been used in this situation and no one here would question you twice about it, but I think you acted well for the situation.

Another troublemaker or group of troublemakers was on EU_S2 today, abusing polls. Some of them made several ban and kick polls against various players and some polls for more bots. Ten or so ban-polls were made against me, which grew quite annoying as there was always a poll up. That's why I disabled kick and ban polls for that server. I plan to check who the poll-starters were when the logs are available and see if they have a record.
