Bandit quest

This is very annoying. I accepted a quest from the guildmaster in Rivacheg to eliminate some bandits and went out to find them. They were being pursued by a Lord party and were caught by the time I reached them. I joined battle and they were defeated but immediately after I got a Quest failed message. This doesn't seem right since there is no other way this quest could be resolved.

You're sure these were the right bandits? The bandits you are after are a different colour and are labelled "Troublesome Bandits".

Yes, they were troublesome bandits and had a different color for their ID. I assume that because the lord party attacked first, they got the credit but it shouldn't happen that way.  Of course, this is probably a rare event but still...
