Bandit Leader?

Did I miss something? Can you eventualy befriend the bandit parties or recruit them somehow? 
Because by the way some players speak, it appears so.

You can't befriend them, but you can recruit them by beating the snot out of them and taking them prisoner. It's easiest to do this with Looters, since you can subdue them on your own with a staff really easily (and they can be trained into your choice of Forest Bandit or Mountain Bandit).

Just watch out for the morale hit when you convert your own prisoners.

You can also free them at times from manhunters, lord parties,  castles etc. where they are held prisoner already and then you don't have to take the morale hit.

I always wished for a 6th faction of Bandits, which would always be at war with everyone. Like the super-duper 1000% difficulty faction.

Ok, what I thougt
I want to try some different settings to make the game harder, until the mod thingy comes out... but it really sucks that we can't recruit bandits even in some strange way... for starters because in this forum you can select the "Bandit Faction" for your avatar.

Kinda like the Eastern Invaders from Band of Warriors?

Those guys are *TOUGH*. But oh so good looty loot when you kill them.

I just hope that module system comes out soon, so they can work on a 1.003 version and I can benefit from all their hard work and play for free.

Manhunters, as long as they live in the early stages of the game, hunt bandits. As they only have blunt weaponry, they take many bandits as prisoners. Attack the manhunters, and recruit the bandits

Of course, you better be quick.. because Manhunters don't seem to respawn.

You can't attack Manhunters though, which sucks cause I hate them. I didn't know about them not respawning though, that might be why I haven't seen any in a while

Guess one will just have to recruit em from the prisoner pool or from enemy lords.

Oops...thought you could attack them. I guess I never really tried. Hadn't seen them in my game in a while either though. What is the point of them?

I always have a few Manhunters in my army, once they level up they get a horse and turn into Slave Crushers and Slaver Chiefs.
