Recruit
When leading a Bandit hideout raid you should be able to choose the team to take with you (i.e. your most powerful troops)

You are able to choose the team when you send a companion, so the same should be true if you are leading the effort.

I went up against one bandit camp last night which was very overpowered.

That is a very tough order for 8 men. but when the team is randomly put together it is very difficult.

Agreed; I think maybe TW should even enable the leadership skill to allow us to bring us even more troops.

Yes! This can be pretty frustrating, since there's not one "best" troop for all hideout types. But when the hideout has 48 sea raiders, there are definitely certain of my men I do not want in there with me! Since there's no realistic reason why a commander would not be able to make a choice like that, I've got high hopes that they'll add this in. The framework for setting certain numbers of troops aside for tasks is already there, after all.

I wanted to suggest the same and agree 100%.
We want to choose our elite troop before raids. It also makes sense to assemble it differently depending on the type of hideout.

I had an additional idea: we have a armor+weapon set for field and civil.. But how about a 3 set for raids&sieges?.. At least my weapons of choice for raids&sieges are different to the ones i use on the open field.

It's a bit disappointing if you loose your cavalry and die in close combat with your polearm knowing you could have your best footman and fight with shield and sword.

There is a way to select your troops. First drop off any companions you do not want in the fight at the nearest settlement. Second move the troops you want up to the top of your party list. Most of the selections come from the top down with some random selection, but it takes your companions first. So if you have heavily armored melee oriented companions leave them in. I end up taking a bow for some shooting as well. There are a couple of YT videos with tips for Bandit hideouts. Here is another - if you loose too many men before getting to the boss you can withdraw and go back in the next day with fresh troops. The bandits should be reduced in number unless more get in from outside.

Like DeRuyter66 said units that are on top of your party list should come in hideouts with you. Party screen enhancements mod makes it very easy to arrange them the way you want. I recommend using it.
But i suggest another idea in this. Maybe a perk in rougery tree allow us to bring more people in hideouts?

Putting them at the top only half works.
Sometimes it like to randomly use the 2nd or 3rd troop on the list.
Next tactic is to use troops with big shields.
Order them to follow you, shield wall, hold fire.
Move them all into one group using F7.
Then direct them at the enemy and order them to line up between you and enemy. Then use a bow to shoot from behind the shield wall.

+1 on picking your own team for these raids - just use the same UI as when you look at a companion's party to let us select who comes along.
