Baldur's Gate 3 (from page 8)

IF there is actually a new Baldur's Gate game in the works, and IF it isn't something completely garbage like a Facebook game, I am calling it now, its going to be **** in comparison to BG1 & 2.

However, all we have is a change on the website that shows absolutely nothing besides some music, a cheap background of character portraits and the picture in the middle. So no, we don't know if it is a ****ing remake you over-hyped sheep.

Here's hoping that Bioware doesn't come anywhere near it. Then maybe we'll get something resembling a RPG and not a dating sim.
Besides CD Projekt RED, who the hell does have excellent stories in their games these days?

From the top of my head: Obsidian, Piranha Bytes.
Edit: and Bethsoft is pretty much on the same level as Bioware in terms of stories.

So nothing like the originals then.

The real problem is I'm not going to pay much for a remake of something I'm only going to play for nostalgia's sake. And given GG was flogging the complete D&D (i.e. every Infinity Engine game) for a fiver yesterday ...

I was wondering how much longer it would take for you to show up and instantly state an"unpopular" opinion

Why do we need a BG remake?
We don't know what it is yet. I'm thinking it's probably a steam rerelease with the widescreen mod tacked in or somesuch, not really a new game or remake in a modern engine. The company involved is the same that released the "HD" version of MDK2, another Bioware game.

I don't mind remakes if they're well done and faithful to the originals. I would like to see Daggerfall that doesn't suck the slimy balls of a bloated drown victim, for example, or an Xcom that's essentially the first one except without eye-rape. Just add purdier graphics, an user friendly UI and you've introducing the series to new players, whose delicate eyes can't stand 90's games.
