Balance of Power: 270 B.C.E. Application Thread

This is the application thread for the 270 B.C. BoP game. How this will work is that you apply for a nation and you will be assigned a number, a number generator will then decide who of those applicants will be chosen to lead the faction. I think this is preferable to first-come, first-serve. You can apply for as many factions as you want, but you can only choose one to play, if your number is generated for more than one faction then you will have to choose one faction. Once the player chooses the faction who has been drawn than for more than one faction, the number generator will run again until the process completes. You could apply for every nation if you wanted to, to increase your odds of definitely being in the game.

A map and list of historical nations are available. You can make your own nation if you so wish, but I request it be somewhat historical. If you are unsure of which faction is which I would suggest doing a search on wikipedia or google first. If you are still unsure, then ask in the thread.

I would welcome any historic tribe that you can find that isn't a minor to the pre-existing ones and that one qualifies.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not, but as you have dug up a faction, no others can apply for that faction and you are guaranteed that slot.

This is assuming that you want to play as them, correct? Or are you just putting it up as a potential faction for others to play?

If you are allowed to host, sure.
Though I am not sure what you mean with "if it isn't a minor to the pre-exesting ones", because as far as I know it is quite the minor nation in comparison with the other nations.

What I meant by "minor to the pre-existing ones" is it's alright as long as it's not a tribe that resides within the boundaries of already-made factions. A lot of the tribal factions and even "civilized" factions are not so much one dominant group but confederations of either many small tribes or city-states.

If there are no issues with the other hosts/regulars, then put me in for Rome and Greek City States.

Just a question: I can see that there will be an awful lot of states without a player at the start. How will those work?

I so want to do this, but not sure if I'll be able. Put me down for Illyria or Gallaeci. I felt tempted to ask to go Lusitanian Tribe(s) or the Votadini, but since I'm not sure if I will be able to play, I'd rather just be down for the luck of the draw, and if I can't play then the person who came second highest can take my place (unless you want to introduce those two for the number generator, in which case put me down for them too).

I.e, in bullet points, put me down for:

• Illyria
• Gallaeci

And if I decide to definitely play in the end, then I would like to may choose one of these, assuming you would allow either or.

• Lusitania
• Votadini

They'd be NPCs, still taking a part in the game, just not posting in the thread. I can imagine this game getting rather full, though, I doubt there'll be that many left.

Well, I was going to assume Dodes would limit it to 20 or so players. That would still leave a tonne of room for NPCs.

Good question. I just thought Dodes would prefer not to have too many new factions added, but if Dodes is aiite with it, I'd prefer the Frisii.

I wrote it as Frisii at first, but I doubted myself tried google found nothing and quickly changed it to frisi, but I geuss Frisii is the correct spelling then.?
