Balance Needs to be Addressed Quickly and Regularly.

Saves currently are done within 20 hours or 2 years in game. Without proper balance it will be impossible to experience late game content such as the linage system. I hope they take balance seriously. The faster they get to it the more players will stick around and continue to help make the game better.

Warband had a great sense of pace, you start out with nothing and many hours later you become a very important figure. As it stands, the game world is not stable enough to allow you the sense that you are the one making an impact. You are just a rapidly aging PC who ends up travelling around a map dominated by a single faction. And that's before your save gets corrupted. Lol. We need TW to go back to basics. Let's get Bannerlord looking like Warband, and go from there. Do not bite off more than you can chew.

I agree wholeheartedly. I understand balance takes time and it will take more time to implement features that will make the world much more stable. I just hope they don't use that as an excuse to keep the game in its current state.I hope they implement some changes soon even if they are just temporary, while they develop better solutions.

I agree, but they already have strayed far away from what worked with this skill level system.

Balance is crucial, but it might take some time for them since there are other priorities like game crashes, freezes and failed game launch attempts. We need to be patient.

They've already said they're addressing the snowballing issue in the next patch, so I wouldn't be too worried.

I'm glad they're addressing snowballing, cause my save is basically not going to be worth carrying on with after only 200 days... BUT... true balance is probably going to take time. The thing with balance is that it's the sort of thing you want to do AFTER everything else is working, because every new feature you add might upset the balance you've created--it's a question of efficiency (I'm not speaking as a game designer, but as a writer. It might not seem like the two fields have much in common, but the same design principle applies to polishing a story, text, etc. You get the content in first, and then you balance it.).

Of course, it's great that they're dealing with snowballing soon, so we can play the game. But I think it's safe to say the game will remain a little unbalanced for the life of early access, because it's the most sensible way of working to try and do the final tweak of that stuff last. I'm also guessing that the levelling/skills section of the game isn't working as intended yet, because that's also a pacing and balance sensitive issue. But yeah, levelling and skills sucks right now and so does snowballing. I guess we'll have to wait and keep our fingers crossed!

I understand balance takes time, but to me and many players its ruining the game. Proper balance will take months to figure out and new systems even longer. However i believe there is probably short term things that they can implement as stop gaps to make the game more enjoyable as development continues.

Look at the new patch notes everyone! Lords are now supposed to manage their finances more efficiently, thus reducing the snowball effect!

Just saw them. Will start a new campaign sometime this evening and probably report back to this thread

They've been releasing patches every day. What more do you want? The early access only started 4 days ago and they've already fixed a crapton of issues. It seems like they are very aware of the issues and are working on them

This post is not a hate post and im 100% satisfied with TW response so far. I just don't want balance to be thrown on the back burner with the excuse that they will get to it and it takes time or they have other features in development. This post was my opinion that balance should be a priority issue and see regular attention. As of right now the main issues with the game revolve around faction and leveling balance. The sooner they are ironed out and if they receive constant tweeks and fixes will allow the community to better support the development of the game.

Yea, it's pretty bad that I don't want to start a new game because I feel like there's a strong chance I'm wasting my time. You NEVER got that with Warband. Again, I know it's Early Access, but I also want to PLAY the game and have a game to play 50 hours into it. I don't want to start over again and again. I've had 3 playthroughs already, and what would happen if I started one today and a patch breaks it another day? We are really just playtesting, and paying $40 for the privilege. Not a good feeling, but hey, that's what the forums are for, airing grievances.

Well, we paid our 40 for what the game will be on release, and paying now means we get to playtest it too. Think of it as a preorder with a side of open beta.

True enough, and there's always Warband for now

You hit it spot on. I've done 4 characters. All had to restart due to steamroll. I'm tempted to try again after the most recent patch but i think im gonna wait to see if it actually worked.
