Does anyone really use that?
I tried to use it for quick postioning of my forces but its hard to tell if your putting them on a hill or not or if they are 5 miles apart  :???:

So if anyone uses it or is good with it please help me out.

It's not that hard to use. You just click on the map where you want them to go. Granted, it's possible that you'll tell your cavalry to hold in the middle of a river, since the map doesn't show terrain, but I usually don't find that to be too big of an issue.

It is just freaking useful. ordering my army to hold postion and the cavalry at the flanks, using it I don't need a horse to order my cavalry to slaghter the archers and them charge at the enemy behind.

I use it only to find where the last ennemies are on the battlefied.

You can click on the minimap with your mouse? As far as I noticed, my mouse cursor doesn't pop up when I use the battle map...

You can indeed use the mouse in the command interface, which is the whole point of having it. Clicking on the map is the equivalent of giving the "hold this position!" command at that spot, and you can use the troop type checkboxes to move troop types to different locations.

Yeah, I just tryied and I noticed I can order my troops around. Before that, I was simply bothered by the way the screen (your sight) move and only used it for quick peeks at the battlemap. The reason was simply the mouse laying on one of the borders of the screen when I was hitting backspace. To prevent that, I need to look straight in front of me before I call the map.

Does that mean it's the reason of the useless (O)rder menu? If you change your order in the (O)rder menu, would it change when you click on the map?

You can click on map and tell them to move there? I didn't know! Thanks for telling me.

I only use the map to see how much time I have until the enemy reaches my archers so I can find a hill and set up there.

To Eagle of Fire: The Order menu still is useful when you need to say something quick without using the backspace. However, I use hotkeys for that. I think Order menu is still implemented for people who are more comfortable with it and it is what enables the hotkeys (The last one was just a guess).
