Like many of you out there, I have been playing PW since its launch and I believe I am not alone when I say that the old PW was better then the one we currently have.

The old PW aloud for, in my opinion, better Role play and more fun. Being a trader selling velvet and spices while trying to dodge bandits was some of the most fun I have ever got out of the game. Not to mention being a Town Watch and guarding a city and taxing people who wanted to enter the city.

Also, In the newer versions of PW bandits are just terrible. Outlaws can only use a short bow and are incredibly gimped in melee and archery. I am not saying let bandits have War bows but at least let them be able to use longbows which in my opinion is the trademark weapon for the Outlaw. It has got to be so bad in some servers that commoner were used at a point to be outlaws instead of the actual outlaw faction because no one wants to be them. The only people that even go outlaw these days are people who first train up as a footmen or whatever and go click on the outlaws. I believe this is just wasted time because once you die you loose all of your stats and have to start again.

Next I would like to see maps such as Oceania (I believe it was called that) and Valley of the Swamps back because those were the two most memorable maps that i certainly enjoyed and believe many other enjoyed as well.

I believe PW should go back to its roots but keep some nice features that it has implemented over these many months. I enjoy the ability to keep the money you earned (until at least the server resets) which proved to be very annoying in the older versions of the mod. I also like the ships which further the role playing ability of the game. Another good thing that I have come to enjoy about the newer version of PW is the customization of the factions and the way of joining a faction.

Another feature that I like that has been added to PW is the farming feature, but not what it is used for. I do agree that eating food and sleeping is a more realistic process then just "sleeping it off" it has proved to me a more tiresome process that proves to discourage confrontations due to the amount of time it either takes to find food or a serf to make you some. I have played countless times where I am spending up to 30 minutes to find food. With this said I believe food should be used to increase hp further than the spawned amount, in this case increase your morale after a freshly baked bread. That to me would be worth the amount of time it takes for people to get the bread and or other food types.

Legolan supports this, though not the old maps part, I like to see new maps, makes me wanna come back.

I agree, a lot of the features added have been really nice, but some things are just disappointing to a long time PW player. I agree with bringing back some of the old maps, and making bandits being able to do something a little bit more effective and less along the lines of tickling, also keeping your armor would be awesome!. Long live PW and long live the Mormans!

I agree to this.

I'm not sure if I played in Oceania, but Valley of the swamps is lame. I also agree to make outlaws stronger.

Keeping your armor would be nice but you have to look at it this way. If you can keep your armor when you either crash or leave the server, everyone will just quit and rejoin before they die. I was a huge supporter of keeping your armor until I realized why they probably haven't implemented this yet.

Brigands are archers for outlaws and can use longbows.

So this is a Suggestion to adjust Outlaw stats? And a plea for mappers to bring back Oceania and Valley of the Swamps? I might be wrong but I had thought did port VoS or was working on it.

As for the Outlaws stats and such, Vornne did make a suggestion thread that nobody pays attention to ya' know?

hey what are you doing here? Get back to fighting for my freedom!

Gah.

People can't understand that we won't bring back the old times. I loved it same as you, but too many players left PW, the sense of the mod changed a bit. There are currently too many players lovin' castle-wars and calling it a common sense.

i know What to do make outlaw get a lord, make some other thing to do than kill, mining and RP and gun(is does not need to be added but  )

I am sorry that you have taken this thread as just a plea for valley of the swamps and Oceania to return and a stat change for outlaws, however, this thread is way more than just that. I may not have added everything I could have that explains just how entertaining the old PW was to a lot of players.

I also discuss how the Role play was much better with the trading system the game had which branches out to many more things then just trading. It lead to hostage situations bank robberies, cause there were actually banks then, and caravans of traders and guards.

I just do not see any of these things as much as I would see back in the older versions of PW before the beta.

FOUL BLASPHEMER!

Valley of Swamps did have its problems I agree, but what made the map for me was the battle between the Town watch and the Outlaws.

Also one word *SEWERS*

( people who played VoS would know what I am talking about  )

Personally, I never got to play PW back in it's apparent 'glory days'. I'd really like to see some of the old maps come back and see what it was like. Banks? That sounds like it'd be a godsend. I voted yes, and support this cause.

The Sewers was and roof-tops escapes, secret Alleys and hide aways was what made VoS so damn awesome for me. Not to mention outside of the City was a pretty damn awesome terrain.
Remember how dangerous that island in between the Spawn Tavern and the Village was? Or all the Rogue Bands of Armed Men and Women who would take the Velvet outpost as their own and mercilessly tax the merchants on their runs?
I remember the Snow Castle as a haven of brewing Rebel Armies and reclusive Lords who were paranoid of their safety.

**** was dope yo'

Everything you just said is exactly how I see the VoS map

For the record:

Old PW was all about "Castle Wars". I will never understand this "castle-war vs RP" thing. Old PW was all about factions fighting over land with a lot of RP in it. It worked together and it was the best RP experience I had in PW. A lot of players enjoyed play "bandit vs traders/TW" but they never have been mainstream of the game even sometimes they were thinking like that.

Too many players left PW because it is not longer fun. It is not mod to blame but players who somehow become crazy serious about gameplay. They change RP from something enjoyable to sort of duty, point of honor, "I am better than you" thing.

We will not bring old PW back without Laszlo. Many here will agree with me that Laszlo was part of the fun.

Hey, enforcing certain high up's idea of roleplay really improved the community, can't you tell? /sarcasm
