Back again with yet, MOAR internet problems.

FML, internet is acting funny again. This time, it connects fine, no random lagg spikes or anything. Then, suddenly, the connection drops. It happens all the ****ing time. Only thing I find fixes it, is switching computer off, letting it sit for 1 minute, then switching it back on. The internet can then be fixed for the night or it just outright refuses to work for more than 5 minutes. I thought maybe the router can't handle the Xbox etc. being on at the same time, but no, it happens without the Xbox or with it, and the Xbox also cuts out.


It's also getting really frustrating trying to play LoL and ending up having to leave games with this dodgy ****ing connection.

Yes. **** TalkTalk. I've been getting slowdowns and random disconnections recently.

If it's multiple devices, then it's probably your router or your service provider or really bad luck. If you have a spare router, switch it out and see if that helps. If it doesn't, try rearranging your room to get the positive energy flowing.

Heh, good thing I moved back home, I was with TalkTalk down south.


If we had a spare router I would have tried it by now, and I don't think it's my service provider, otherwise it would have failed badly before this :<.


My theory is that this router just ain't as "powerful" as the one we had before the lightning storm that blew up the last one.

If it doesn't, try rearranging your room to get the positive energy flowing.

I would suggest shelling out the 50 or so pounds for a WRT54G. That thing does not die. It's outdated (no Wireless N IIRC), but it's like the AK-47 of routers. Stick it in the mud and 20 years later it'll still be transmitting your unsecured network.

Damn straight, only reason I replaced mine was because of a new proprietary router for a new service. Should bring it back, it was a hell of a lot better than this thing.

Only reason I replaced mine was because my dad wanted Wireless-N for some reason.
