This looks interesting. You should really consider MP.

And I wonder, what is the Spartan Troop Tree? You should perhaps just post the complete troop trees for each faction. Would make things more clear.

Already thinking about MP. It wouldn't be that big of a change.
When the troop trees are totally finished (Beta obviously, so the names wont be historically accurate) I'll post them.

King Wilhelm 说:
Do you think this will work with the new warband version 1.142?

Warband 1.142? That's WfaS. It probably will, but some of the native weapons won't work.
I'll test it with WfaS ASAP.

No, He is right
Look at here http://download.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1142.exe
(Ow sh*t, Patch released, How about our mod?)

I honestly don't know.... It would be too extensive to port the entire flipping mod over to a new module system.

Otherwise, the new Warband patch won't change that much, so I would suppose so. Testing now though. Will post results....

Yes, They doesn't make announcement in this forum (may be)
The New Version just change some graphical and bugs, May be that not affect with our mod

Nope, it doesnt.

The mod works like a charm for 1.142

Warriors of the Gods was tested succesfully from 1.12* to 1.142, so play without a care.

Haven't downloaded the new version yet but every mod seems to work just fine.

As for some Suggestions:

Spartan Troop Tree:

                                                                                    Periokoi Cavalry
                                                                                    /
Helot Skirmisher --> Released Helot --> Periokoi Hoplite --> Spartan Krypteia --> Spartan Hoplite --> Spartan Hippeis --> Spartan Bodyguard
                                                                                  \
                                                          Periokoi Archer // Skiritai Skirmisher

Roman Troop Tree:

Roman Peasant --> Roman Legionair --> Roman Centurion
                      \
Roman Auxilia --> Roman Auxilia Cavalry
                                            \
                                              Roman Auxilia Archer

Gaul Troop Tree:

Gallic Cavalry --> Gallic Cavalry Elite
                                                                                                                                              /
Gallic Youth Skirmisher --> Gallic Militia Spearman --> Gallic Spearman --> Gallic Swordsman --> Gallic Warrior Elite
                                                                          \
                                                                            Gallic Archer

Think it would be more accurate this way. But feel free to do it your way. Though I hope for the Spartans you will add the Troop Tree, as I don't care as much about the other factions.

Also other things you could consider which would be nice for the mod:

Overhand Spear: Change the current spear trust with an overhand spear trust. (Like the one in Vikingr or Grim Age).
Shield: From the pictures the shields are held too high. Perhaps make it so the shield is at the center.
Passive Shield Protection: Shield only protects the part where it is covering your body. At least from ranged fire.

Thank you!
I needed someone to do the more accurate trees, working on changing that later. The only problem I have is that, historically, the Spartan army was not made up of Helots. The Helots were only slaves and light soldiers. Not the spartans themselves....
Overhead spear, well, I don't want to change that only because people would get frustrated that their nord soldiers are striking over head with a spear.

Thanks for the crits and suggestions, they are DEFINITELY useful.

Helots did fight as skirmishers though. They would just carry some javelins and a knife but still.

You could also have the Spartans as a special troop tree. Basicly make the Spartan Krypteia from my troop tree only recruitable from the capital. And the Helot Skirmisher only from the villages. And perhaps the option to hire the Periokoi soldiers, besides training them all the way there.

About the overhand. The way to satisfy both sides: Make it possible to switch from standard mode to overhand mode by pressing X. Vikingr mod has the same currently.

But love to help you out with the Spartan faction (regarding more accuracy, right shield emblems etc.). This mod gives a bit of Deadliest Warrior feel with all kinds of different factions .

Will the Beta from 8th juli have MP?

Updated Spartan Troop Tree:

Castle:

Spartan Krypteia (Knife) --> Spartan Hoplite (Spear/Sword/Shield) --> Spartan Hippeis (Spear/Sword/Shield) --> Spartan Bodyguard (Spear/Sword/Shield)

Village:

Helot Skirmisher (Four Javelins/Knife) --> Released Helot (Spear/Knife/Shield) --> Periokoi Hoplite (Spear/Sword/Shield) --> Periokoi Archer (Bow/Arrows/Sword/Shield) / Periokoi Cavalry (Spear/Sword) / Skiritai Skirmisher (Four Javelins/Knife)

The Periokoi and Skiritai should perhaps also be able to be hired without having to train a Helot all that way.

Will the July 8th version have an MP?

No. Sadly.
This version just has the near completed troop trees, new items, and new scripts. I have yet to even change all of the lords and kings. Lol
The mp and fixed lords will be in 0.9

Are you open for suggestions about troop trees? As a player of Rome : Total war ( a great source of inspiration) i could make an expanded troop tree and possibly some pics of roman\gaul\Spartan/Arab units and as i have the barbarians expansion i could search some about Mongols/Nords.
Good luck with the mod !I have done something similar before but i though it was stupid and deleted it  so I do appreciate your mod.

Oh yeah, I'm up for suggestions. Feel free to expand the troop trees, give me pointers on items, etc.

I used Phalanx300's Spartan Tree (Probably will keep that as it was as accurate as possible with one troop tree) but as for perfectly accurate stuff, I need LOTS of help.

And thanks! I'm glad you like it.

I will work it with the items present in the mod and send you what i can work from it
I hope huge troop trees doesn't bothers you
In order that you don't think i am full of air i will be keeping you updated and post some pics

I didn't think you were full of air anyway, since it wouldn't benefit you to lie or be lazy at all. At least not if you want to play the mod with the expanded troop trees.
Welcome to the credits though! Haha

Give your opinion
Do you think it should be bigger?

 I see what you mean about big troop trees.

I'll work on adding those, hopefully there isn't a WB Engine limit on troops.

Honestly, it fits. That is pretty accurate from what I've seen, and it would definitely work
That way fans of the Romans are happy with accuracy.
