awfully quiet

When i fight, the only sound i can hear is the horse galloping sound and perhaps the sound of my sword slashing trough an enemies body, but compared to real medieval combat its quite quiet. i am pretty sure when riders clashed, they screamed as much as they could, perhaps because of all the adrenaline pumping, so i got this suggestion, when my swadian knights charge towards some vaegir knights i dont want them to be quiet, they should scare their victims, they should indicate that they are not afraid, i want to hear their screams, warcries whatever, i dont wanna hear the background music i want to hear perhaps an ambient sound, like the one on the map when you go close to 2 enemies having a battle you can hear the screams of soldiers and clashes of metal. perhaps an ambient sound can play in the background of whizzing arrows screams and galloping horses. and perhaps when you swing your sword, i can pretty sure guess the swinger didnt keep his mouth shut, he would scream on top of his lungs.

so my suggestions are

1. screams and warcriers when riders meet. or whenever two soldiers meets.
2 an ambient sound that plays in the background of whizzing arrows screams and etc, like the battle sound cue on the map.
3. screams and stuff when you swing swords and etc

Rest assured Armagan has said there will be more vocals from NPCs in the next version.

The only problem with ambient sound is that in these sort of skirmish-type battles it would really be a bit jarring to have ambient sounds of batle occuring when it's just you against a pair of rock-toting river pirates (for example).

Atmospheric sound effects like a war cry after giving a charge order or a nice cheer from all your survivors after you win the battle might also be a nice addition.

Completely agree. Although having ambient sounds like crowds cheering while you're in the arena, or lively street corner sounds when you're in town would be very nice.

This is the first and only gripe I have about this game so far.

My sugguestions:

1. Breathing... Maybe very light, but when you are charging on a horse, hearing the horse snort/breathe would be great. Also, humans breathing.

2. Other troops... Grunts, screams at death, screams at engaging, footsteps, ect.

And ambient sounds wouldn't quite fit into small battles, but if the other noises were amplified it would do nicely. Then you would have music, grunts, slashes, swooshes, clinks, stabs, screams, ect.

Great job though, the game is great. I haven't seen anything that is less than acceptable.

I find that the sounds are pretty quiet anyway compared to the music. It might help some if the sound effects had their volume boosted by maybe 25-50% over all.

Having the player character and NPCs yell stuff and have some animations while doing it would be great. When your crossbowman gets attacked in melee by a knight with a sword and shield, he'd yell for help. If you order a charge, your character yells charge and points with his sword. That would add a fair bit to the soundscape of battles.
