AWESOME IDEA

Whilst attacking a castle with my forces, I had what I thought was an amazing idea for upcoming games! In castle and town sieges when you beat all of the defending soldiers, there should be a somewhat optional "boss fight." Like at lower levels its mandatory that you fight the commander of the stronghold, but as you level up and get higher in honor and right to rule you can capture or kill them without fighting them. I think it would be an awesome addition. Also; maybe add like a castle crasher type dealy where you have to attack the stronghold where the nobles and their sort are held and can choose to kidnapp, free or kill them. Make it so much more fun and realistic in my opinion

How would it be realistic? The commander's just a man, he shouldn't be able to take 40 arrows and a sledgehammer to the face just because he's in charge of the garrison.

I don't know about boss fights, but the current implementation of AI leaders could do with a renovation.  Currently they charge blindly into battle and get knocked out without fail.  Adding some sort of royal guard or captains escort should improve their survivability a little, as should some basic tactical abilities.  As with the total war series groups of soldiers organised into units should fight cohesively and move with tactical purpose, cav should be able to charge in(preferably into the side or behind a group) then disengage, move away and charge in again, rather than being bogged down the moment they hit an infantry group.  I honestly thing that moving to a group based tactical approach would make it easier to create a tactical AI.  This way separate infantry groups can be used to flank or encircle.  Strong infantry can be used to hold an attack and bog down the enemy group while light infantry skirmish with thrown weapons or circle around.  Spearmen can be used to hold a cav charge and protect archers while our other infantry units get busy with the enemy infantry.
Total war type control of groups of soldiers (but not using a tactical map, instead using your character to survey and control the battle field) is the way forward for the tactical game.  This way the enemy leader won't just charge ahead and die, this way he'll have his royal guard, and will have some common smarts regarding retarted charges.

In brytenwalda you can capture, free or kill lords (and I think you can't kill ladies, but maybe you can) that you capture in sieges.

There still isn't any way to repopulate lost lords though.  There is no inheritance system or recruitment system like in total war.  I think this would be a fun addition and add to the strategic and diplomatic gameplay.  You'd lose lots of honour by killing enemy lords and many of your diplomatic avenues would close leading to periods of perpetual war where all captured leaders are executed, villages burned, peasants murdered, caravans raided and chaos descends.  As opposed to a more civilised war where the niceties are observed until one side concedes and gives land or gold in order to end hostilities.

It'd be more realistic in the fact that you wouldn't be able to headshot the leader of the defenders and not have too much of a problem killing everyone else... I mean there should be a better A.I. System like Jesus Your lord said.

No : it would not be "more realistic".

Then **** off! If you don't like it you don't have to comment! I thought it would be an innovative addition to the game, but nooooo! An idiot like you had to come and try and troll just for the hell of if. Gtfo

Overreaction much? People are perfectly free to express their views about ideas, that's what discussion boils down to after all.

@ bobkop282

You could have said it would be "more challenging" or "more fun" or whatever else.

But suggesting a boss fight personified by humain, with superhuman ability, and claiming "it would be more realistic"...
It's so obivious that I did not needed to argue further than your own quoted words.

I suggest a Boss chest spawning after the win, with leveled loot inside. It would be AWESOME.

Maybe like looting the lord's private chest or something?

I would suggest a tower that has dozens of archers on the roof. you've gotta climb and slay the castle/town commander. That would cover a duel, too.
