Greetings to all,

I wont expand on how this game is amazing because every other post says so. What I am happy about is that the game is not another fantasy lotr thing! don't get me wrong I love fantasy, but It is refreshing to see something that is atleast closer to medieval history then medieval fantasy!

I have always loved the games that come few and far between like Lords of the realm, stronghold, Europa 1400 the guild(one of the best games ive ever played , a definite buy for your merchant types)etc... now Mount and Blade imo is placed up there with the rest of them as one of the best medieval games ive ever played.

Well, this is fantasy, but somewhat grittier, more down-to-earth stuff.

The game itself reminds me a whole lot of the anime series Berserk, which, while having occasional supernatural elements, is mainly focused around a medieval mercenary band working in the service of whoever will pay their way. Dark, gritty, violent and remarkably realistic.

Anyone who has seen that show knows what I mean when I say that my character (Griffith) is destined to form a new Band of The Hawk. :D

Berserk is awesome, yeah. Manga <3

And yeah, this game is really awesome. Don't regret the 10 dollar purchase at all. It reminds me of a medieval "Pirates!" and that's definitely a good thing.

It is realistic in that during the middle ages there were many "bands" of knights who were mercenaries or wandering soldiers etc. I cannot wait for future updates.

I'd definitely love to see this game build up to be something like Pirates!

Working for the various sides, attacking caravans of the enemy.
Capturing towns! Converting them!
Treasure quests!
Duels!!!

Oh yeah. A few "duel" missions would be really cool. Being challenged by some rival knight or something for a fight in the arena. :D

I'm also glad this game wasnt made fantasy-ish. It wouldnt be the same if there were trolls and dragons and such in it.

Duels are a really good idea. I think having a bounty put on your head or hunting people for a bounty would be really cool too.

By far implementing a magic system and strange creatures take a lot of time and effort and takes away from some of the real aspects of the game.

Oooh, I would love to have a good magic system, a la Dungeons & Dragons.

And Armagan, at some point, you have to add a dragon or two. Imagine charging the big red beast on horseback, shield, lance and all.

Ooh! You know what else would be cool? Cybernetic implants! Like, you could upgrade your legs so you could run as fast as a horse! Or what about adding in some steampunk stuff? Like, you could make a musket and use that instead of a bow, or ride a steam-powered mechanical horse!

I mean, way too many games are going for the whole "medieval realism" thing nowadays anyway. We need some fantasy or scifi if anyone's going to be interested in this game!

In case you didn't catch that, here it is again:

I think you're all forgetting the most important thing:

Robotic zombie-ninjas...

...FROM THE FUTURE!

(Seriously though, I too appreciate the lack of spells and wizards in this game. Thumbs up.)

Okay I think by now even the most dimwitted understand the sarcasm.

Now a friendly robot turkey ghost from the future of christmas past creature, that would be realistic.

I wouldn't mind seeing some mild supernatural elements at the very end of the story (once it's fully implemented). It'd be an interesting shakeup for a player who thinks he's seen everything out there. Nothing as tacky as wandering bands of orcs and undead on the map. Perhaps just a scripted battle or two against something more (or less?) than human.

Perhaps shades of the anime series Berserk. It's about a gritty, medieval mercenary band, fighting in a war between two neighbouring kingdoms (familiar much?). It's very realistic for the most part, but at the very end, everything goes to hell. Literally.

Just personal preference, though. I know most here would want the game to stay all realistic, all the time.

How about religions? No special powers but how about a temple or church where the priests/monks help you heal at faster rate? Or church X sends you on a mission to locate holy relic Y which fell into the hands of evil bandits. Or you encounter a pilgrimage. If you attack them you stand to gain valuable items, but you run the risk of angering the people of the local town or causing a loss of morale to your followers (bad idea to piss the gods off).

Yeeeeees, I can see it now. You'd also have to go grab a sword from the stone, gather an army of Swadian knights around a round table and then rule the entire kingdom just to satisfy your own ego. In the end of the game, you'd be killed by a little boy and a crazed old senile magician.

Hmmm, that could be an idea. Certain items could provide an increase to party morale. Religous factions could be an easily done grouping. Have different towns follow different gods. You can join the 'temple guard' and have benefits like access to cheaper followers, better followers, items etc. Downside is that if you join one faith the others are closed off to you and the temple guards of the other faiths might start coming after you.
