Auto-block in singleplayer

I've never told anyone how to play a game. You're more than welcome to play Bannerlord however you like.

Nah you've seem to have been pretty chill. My issue is with people who come in and either don't read the thread, or just want to dictate.

EDIT:
What about blind people? When will TW implement braille and a narrator to tell me what's going on while playing?

This did make me chuckle, but you do get how one is a reasonable request right? We aren't asking for tales world to make a feature for every person (and disability out there) I doubt anyone would complain if someone asked for a colorblind scheme?

There are plenty of illiterates and tyrants especially since EA just released. I'm not too worried about it. I'm actually pretty confident that TW will eventually reimplement the handicapped settings, just like they will fix the rest of the game.

Yeah that's not a git gud response, they simply gave them a suggestion for the tools they have available now to use, which is helpful (looking at you fun-dictators). I'm sure with the amount of attention this has gotten there will, at the very least I think, be a response.

I said community response, not dev response. The community response (the people posting in this thread, for example) is "lol git gud". The dev response is what it is - which appears to hint that auto-directional blocking isn't going to be a thing.

Do you realize that "the community" is not one person, and there is a broad variety of opinions and feelings within the community of this extremely (and plainly stated) unfinished release? This type of thinking is very immature. It indicates a lack of ability to utilize critical thinking and reasoning. Again, there has been no statement regarding whether auto-block will be included in the future. There has barely been any time for any kind of statements to be made about anything. Have some patience.

I dunno, they never asked about auto-blocking, and I don't think any dev member is allowed to make promises without permission.

Have you thought about people with physical disabilities? Or people who are aging and don't have solid reflexes (that starts to happen to most people in their 30's and gets progressively worse)? Or just that it's *not fun* for some people, and that's is a game whose series has had this feature for 15+ years?

This isn't an unreasonable request, it's an expected feature after being here for so long (and I never even guessed it wouldn't be here now!). This isn't asking for some new insane thing, it's just asking for what we've always had.

And turning the difficulty down (1/3rd damage etc) isn't the option, because that applies to your entire army - I don't want my army to roll over superior forces just because I personally suck at blocking.
I only spoke about myself. For me, it was good. I can understand that for other it's a real issue, but it's impossible to do something perfect for everyone.

It's just a very glaring omission to have what was a core feature to a lot of players missing with no direct response on it at all. Patience is nice and all, but these threads would peter out pretty quickly if the only responses were "Yeah I'd like to see it back" and people who for some reason hate the idea of a toggleable option that didn't impact them stayed out of it.

If those of us who want the option back don't respond with valid reasons why we liked the feature, the devs (who appear to be undecided or at least not forthcoming so far) it might get left as "oh it's not a big deal, the core of our players don't want that feature anyway". So that's why there's a lot of arguing/discussion around it.

I still haven't seen a legit reason from ANYBODY why having this feature in the game would be a negative.

No one's asking perfect for everyone. We're asking for an option that (nearly every person who's posted here has agreed on) would be helpful. I do appreciate you not dictating though.

I'm with you that the unwarranted opinions and people dictating how things "should" be need to **** right off, but unfortunately being an ass is allowed. I'm all for opinions, they stop being those when you tell people they need to improve, or adapt, or that they are enjoying themselves wrong.

Inappropriate behavior
Theres no reason for it to not be in the game, thats true. But seeing how toxic the dumbasses needing autoblock are then i hope that they dont add it into the game.

Lol Glanton you’re such a troll. Smdh. Is this how you have fun? Refreshing a forum page looking for things you can be snarky at or people you can poke at? You’re embarrassing yourself lol.
Just let the people have a civil discussion and add substantive points to the debate, this conversation is not benefitted by your pointless antagonism.
And with that, no more feeding the troll ?

If you're upset by somebody's post, there is an ignore button which is similar to auto-blocking so you should be all over it.

Yeah, I had to refund the game for two reasons. One, the persistent crashes and two, I couldn't have fun since I couldn't block despite being on the lowest difficulty for everything.

Once those two things are fixed, I'll buy it again in the future. The state the game is in now is just not for me, and I knew that it could've been when I bought it.

Only a completely blind person could not see that the same can be written about many others over here - including you.

You're not (in position to do this, your position only gives you the ability to punish people breaking the rules, and I'm not breaking it unlike some others over here) and I'm not (embarrasing myself, since I have my own opinion based on arguments I was able to present. You don't have to agree with them and words like "embarrasment" etc. are merely personal opinions, not facts). So word against the word. And scroll back a bit and you'll see that I wrote I consider this topic closed and won't respond until provoked by direct quotes, since then I'm merely responding to insults or accusations so I'm not sure I'm the one who's "stirring".

I don't know, but you're probably right. Equally horrible as reading petty, failed insults.
Short note - "stupid cretin" is actually a pleonasm, a fault of style.

Of course they could be added. Devs are adding cheat codes after all for people to use and if not - there are often trainers made by other people. So - one way or another - sooner or later - they will be available. I've never denied that.

Pride may come from overcoming the obstacles but it's not really about that. It's more about getting a grip on yourself. No matter how bad the economic situation is in all the games I play - I'd never use a money cheat. I noticed many times before that after using cheats I immediately lose interest in continuing and usually start a new game. To have the options to cheat or lower the difficulty is one thing - to use it - another. Some may say they have to use it, because... (and here's a list of arguments). The real question is - do they really have to use it, or do they just try to find excuses to avoid putting more effort? In short - maybe instead of demanding the game to be easier - try a bit harder at first? As I've said - I do not complain about the game options, but about specific mentality and attitude. It's not the "git gud or die". It's more "ok, it seems it's hard for you, but don't quit so early and please try a bit harder because I believe you most probably would do fine if you tried a bit harder". Don't you think it's actually a good advice?

And when it comes to old age and reflexes - a quote from another thread:

It's not that absolutely all older people with slower reflexes can't enjoy the game so they HAVE TO use the auto-block. It's not an argument and it never was.
There are old players who have no problems with new blocking.
There are old players who had problems with new blocking and were able to overcome them and play happily since then.
And there are old players who have problems and can't or don't want to overcome them.

And if I had to choose I'd say that probably more of them simply don't want to do it and instead they demand an easier route to the same goal all others achieved. Again - it's just a personal opinion.
Then you are probably the guy who will be doing speed runs on the hardest difficulty to conquer the whole continent. Which is great because they are fun to watch but not everyone likes to do that so I don't understand why you are being demeaning to people who don't like to play that way. If a game frustrates me I quit, because I play them to relax. If life frustrates me, I persevere because it matters to me. A game is just a way to relax for me. And if you say you're not being demeaning, then maybe you need to learn how to portray your tone better through text as everyone here will agree that you're being demeaning and rude.

guys a quote from the main website....

Skill-Based Directional Combat System
Vanquish your foes using the game’s deep and intuitive combat system that is easy to learn but difficult to master.

I hope they implement auto block i really do but im not sure if they plan to

Also all the people raining on auto block can one of them tell me how the hell i am meant to run into a 300 vs 300 battle and when more than one enemy which is going to happen attacks me how the hell do i block there attacks with a 2h weapon its impossible compared to warband this game is literally going to force me into one handed and shield im going to miss my 2h weapons so much!

That's why we're here -- to find out.

I think that everyone simply assumed that there would be an auto option since the auto option was actually the default option in all of their other games, but could be toggled off if one so desired. We simply need a developer response on this. There is a large segment of the playerbase who will lose interest in the game over this -- myself included.

I've been playing Mount and Blade since 2006, and I can tell you with great certainty that I have zero interest in the single player campaign if I have to use manual blocking. Manual blocking is great for multiplayer. It is garbage for single player. And I mostly play single player.

I just want to know what their plan is. Right now I'm sitting with the game refunded but game files still installed until we get clarification. If auto blocking is on the roadmap, I will repurchase. If it's simply out as a feature, I do not want the game. It's that simple.
