Australian servers?

A bunch of Aussies have recently been let into the beta, but we're forced to play on the US/EU servers, with pings from 256 - 350. This is unplayable to be honest, as everything happens a quarter of a second after you tell it to. My lance just goes straight through my enemies, and they then warp to the side a few metres, usually killing me instead. Is there any hope of some Australian/Asian servers for us?

It's borderline playable if you're on foot. At the very least you can still shoot stationary targets =p

But yes, lower pings are pretty much necessary to play (and test) the game properly.

It's okay as long as you're not trying to ride a horse. The half or so second lag between trying to swing and actually swinging is a bit of a disadvantage in melee though. Archery still works okay.

To be honest I've been really impressed with how well the game manages to handle pings as low as ours. I very rarely get any oddities, and apart from horses being impossible to steer, the game plays pretty okay.

It would be nice to have a South East Asia server for the Beta though, seeing as there are quite a few players from the region. You could stick us on a gametype that none of the US and EU guys want to play, like CTF or Siege.

another +1 for Aussie Servers ..

although im having trouble connecting to any server at the moment so im yet to experience this lag for myself.

Haven't played yet as I am still downloading the beta. Would be nice to have some Aus. Servers. I want to have a good, wholesome time testing.

I would like to beat the living daylights out of my countrymen without lagging all over the place

Aus servers will be good. However frikkin AVG keeps stuffing me up on the download. Despite disabling the stupid thing.

Quickest and easiest solution is to make an exception in the resident shield options for the folder you're downloading to. If it keeps screwing up, just ignore the alert message and run the install program before clicking "ignore".

I add support for an Aussie server, playing with 244 (what I get on avereage for a US server) is still poor. It's hard to hit anyone with my sword from horse back, even if I slow down, and couched lance dmg is almost impossible to get.

That and some people have been so epically rude as to scream at me through the chat to leave a seige or battle or whatever because of my high latency. How am I supposed to test when I'm not welcome?

Yeap, im from Malaysia, and i believe mount & blade asian fan base is big enough to have their own server!

What, you have electricity down there now?
No they have those steam powered PC's.

Anyway why invite those that can't properly test? either give them a server or don't invite them.

I would have thought they would set up some Aus. servers and have 'em ready for us before they sent out invites.

I hope they put them up soon.

I can't see it remotely being viable for taleworlds as a small indie company. Unless you guys start paying them I doubt it will ever happen.

I would pay a bit of money to open a us west coast server. If a bunch of west coasters pitch in it would be real cheap on our part.

Testing how the game behaves on lower pings is important, you can get bugs there that you wouldn't normally get. That being said, a ping of 150 is more than enough to test for that, so there'd be no loss.

Renting server space isn't that expensive. If it was I doubt they'd have the six US servers and four EU servers that no one ever uses.

I started last night, 240-260 on US servers, horse riding is just suicide. Archery however seems to be much better than most other fps's while lagging. Definitely need an oceanic server +1

Yes, at least 1 Aussie server is needed. It's really annoying to play with some guys who have a ping around 350. They lag and lag and suddenly I'm killed, .
