I think the campaign would be better if it were just fighting, and no role-play or any of that. That means you can leave all this trolling **** (since we're all guilty of it from time to time) at the door and focus on what's important - the battles. And hence a 'GON campaign' sounds completely crap, and I don't know what whoever organised this was thinking, but a campaign is supposed to be about battles, nothing else. If you don't let someone fight because of some people being banned then that's stupid and you should go back to playing dungeons and dragons

Also just noticed this

ACC1 is a GON admin, and he's also the sole person organising/running this campaign

Hah no bloody wonder, forget this whole thing if this is the case

Agreed.

You don't need a roleplay campaign to organise matches anyway. Just go on mumble or steam and talk to another team and arrange a date and time. If they're not available or don't feel like committing themself so much to warband then so be it. You can't force it on them.

I still think refusing to let certain teams/people compete because of a previous history is pure discriminatory crap.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I was always under the impression that the point of this campaign was to encourage people to get back into proper and regularly scheduled clan matches. If we refuse to allow certain teams to enter then that just contradicts the message we are trying to communicate.

Not to offend anyone... this is just a thought... but at the moment, it sounds more like this campaign was set up just so a few people could sit on their throne of egotism and dictate others.

one thing that sucks about this so called 'community' (can we even call it that?) is the lack of competitiveness. i know most clans are still scrimming frequently, but for what? when was the last time KEEN scrimmed someone? has anyone reached their level yet? and don't say 'we don't verse them because they go around saying 'we are the best' which is trolling.....' (what?! lol) because that's pure crap as well. and that definitely sounds like something kos_acc1 would say (from what i've heard and seen he isn't really that bright when it comes to things like this). so the question is, when will people in this community toughen up? i thought we were australians, not whining israelis

naturally, but nobody ever says that. it's always something else like 'we won't verse KEEN because they're trolls', as said above

in that case maybe they should get better then. lol.

so why don't we organise a better campaign? one that is focused only on playing scrims as timely and as efficiently as possible.

SPLH beat keen in an fair match, fyi.

No one fights KEEN because they act like dickheads most of the time - spamming and being aggro in the chat, only playing when they can dominate everyone, gloating when they win, complaining when they lose, and generally acting as if they're on hormone supplements.

There seems to be some demand, so go and set it up!

Forget the campaign for the time being (it's dumb) and sign up and focus on the upcoming oceanic duel tournament instead.

After that tournament is finished, we're going to assign people a ranking based on how well they did and put their name onto this ladder that we are creating.

Once you're on the ladder, you can challenge someone with a higher ranking than you to a duel and take their position if you win. New entrants to the ladder will start at the bottom and can work their way up.

I'm going to echo Papa here. KEEN while skilled (no one is disputing that Forethought, you need to settle down) they constantly troll, change their in game names to confuse people, personally single out and attack people (someone has been personally and irl attacked to the point that they didn't want to be around the community at all).

Not only that, they do intentionally skill stack when there is no tracking of players, there has been many instances where we (KoS) has agreed to a scrim with other clans, only to find out at the match that they are bringing most of KEEN with them. That isn't clans scrimming other clans, that is KEEN muscling in on matches when they can so they can dominate. And up to this point, KoS has obliged them and fought despite what happens.

It is part of the reason ACC1's campaign has mandatory GUID registering to play, so that we don't have people who aren't who they say they are turning up.

I can only think of one time we fought against them under subwoof tags but it did happen. I say let Subwoof join so long as we know it is KEEN we are facing.

Have you asked the clan you were scrimming not to use people who aren't part of their clan?

If not then you should probably have done so or at least made that point clear when arranging the match.

If you have, then it's not KEEN's fault for jumping in. It's other clans organiser's fault for asking them to come in and play for them. I mean it's not like KEEN members constantly keep up with who's scrimming who and then contact one of the clans and asks them "HEY MANG! CAN WE PLAY FOR YOU, BRO? IT'LL BE FUNNY AS LOL!"

To suggest that they are "muscling in" i think is a bit over the top.

I'll fight all of you at once if you follow these simply rules:

No weapons
No horses
No armor
No keyboard

And that is the first thing I've read today, that's made any sense.

Enough of the clan community is good enough to fight them, if they put their backs into it.
And I don't get this whole "troll" argument. I've fought in many clan matches and I haven't seen any trolling. If people want to be idiots or dickheads on the forums or in a pub server, let them. There are rules and admins in place to ensure it doesn't go too far and it has worked successfully.
(If you are getting abused by them, take it more as a compliment than an insult.)
I may have missed a few memo's as I sit in the dark corner watching, but everything that has been said against Subwoof's involvement so far is nothing more than a pathetic excuse.

If you are crap enough to be destroyed by them, then play more. If you feel insulted by internet tough guys, then you are an idiot.

110% Agree.

I just wanna play the bloody game. Pubs are good but not as fun as organised clan battles.

Noble only has two players signed up for the campaign.

Noble are you guys watching this thread? What's going on?

from wikipedia: 'In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.'

now you can't say that KEEN are doing this on the forums and in game, and you definitely can't say that they do it constantly. i don't think they change their names to confuse people, why would that be the case? that is a big assumption you've made there. it's more to do with referencing things that are funny, and making eachother laugh with the name/face combinations, and i've seen some KoS have a go at it as well, as well as another guy, mongolian_llama_farmer (nice try but eh....... lol). now why would they personally single out and attack people? i know for a fact they don't do it for no reason. and barely ever at that. most of these allegations come from a time where this sort of thing was back and forth. i'm sure if you refrain from saying they troll constantly, and make other assumptions as to why they make new characters or 'aliases' as you call them, then you'll definitely get along.

what? so you mean (under the oceanic campaign rules this was called 'mercing') when a clan needed mercs and they choose KEEN, that it's skill stacking? you're damn right it is. and i don't believe it's right to say that they 'muscle in' on matches just to dominate, you'll find that most of those times the clans that needed mercs went to KEEN and asked them, not the other way around. that is why i find the idea of mercing a bit dumb. i've never seen it in any other game, and this shouldn't be any different. if a clan only has 8 members and has to play in a 10v10, then make it 8v8. what you've said is very similar to me saying 'papa_lazarou always likes to muscle in on SPLH matches so he can dominate' which clearly isn't true either. lol.

i think by now that shouldn't be a problem. especially if we don't have 'mercs' or people from other clans/pub playing in a scrim. and i agree with roman, let's forget the campaign and focus on the tournament.

well take a look at some of scorch's reasons above.

"i don't like KEEN because they make characters to confuse people" - assumption
"i don't like KEEN because they muscle in on scrims just to dominate" - another assumption
"i don't like KEEN because they constantly troll" - an even bigger assumption, it's said so much that it's just become accepted as truth. and why wouldn't people believe it, when people are believing the above assumptions as well?

and as a result of these assumptions, you get scorch pointing them out on the forums (on more than one occasion), you get aleczacool making an essay about KEEN and what he thinks of them (most of which was wrong, just like these above assumptions, well - if not the same assumptions), and you get the kids on mumble who hear what's said about KEEN and decide to believe it, then calling them trolls in game (and sometimes teamhitting them when there's no admin on). all of which is a shame, and i think everyone is guilty of some kind of wrongdoing at the end of the day, so why this back and forth 'you did this' and 'but you did that'?

Everyone, eh? What wrongdoing is KEEN guilty of?
