So about MANUAL attack and block, I feel like half the time my sword or whatever blocks or attacks in a different direction that I want. I have nearly 1k hours in warband so it's not like me messing up, am I the only one? Also trying to kill people with swords on horseback is near impossible compared to warband too.

Yeah, I find it a bit awkward. I had to change my to move rather then move mouse option, it makes it a bit better, but still doesn't feel as tight as warband.

I still think the biggest flaw is tying attack/block direction to your movement or camera controls. Which means if you're trying to move/rotate/etc. in one direction because that's where your opponent is going, it's INCREDIBLY awkward if you then have to try to attack or block in the opposite. You're already set up for failure because now you have to stop your current movement and change your direction again.

And what the frell just happened to my name and avatar? I'm showing up as "Lady Tuan" rather than myself. :xf-oops:

Yeah, 2k hours in warband and I have the same issues. Its still fun though... needs mods haha.

That’s actually what made Warband great, its actually a simple yet somehow complex combat system.

I think the forum thing is an April Fools thing as well.

It's not about "simple yet complex." ESPECIALLY against the AI who doesn't face the same restrictions as the player.

Crap, I forgot all about the 1st. Ugh, I'm just gonna go sleep for 24 hours until all that nonsense is over.

I’m gonna be honest, I used to only play SP and only used auto block. However, I switched to playing MP a lot and got good with the manual block. Its much more fun imo but I get not everyone likes it. On that note, if you’re having trouble just turn down the AI combat difficulty. The system, at least in regards to directional blocking, isn’t the problem. That’s what makes Mount and Blade special and a lasting icon.

I frankly don't have a dog in the fight on manual vs. auto directional blocking. My big problem is the implementation. Especially the fact that its pretty much the same system as the original Warband and hasn't been noticeably improved.

Yeah I just hope they make the combat AT LEAST as clean as warband, right now it's in a worse spot and I've still not played multiplayer because of it. Also side question, any idea if they plan to port Napelonic Wars into bannerlord? That's what all my hours were in in warband

Also noticed the Block doesnt line up with the mouse alot -in Warband had this problem only when first learning manual block but that was human input error
