Attack Animations

Is there a way to change the attack animations back to Native default? The ones that come with the mod are flashy and all but they change attack times too much, especially since I can't choose which animation will play.

I agree, I've grown far too attached to the stock animations.
And because of how the arms/weapon position sometimes I can't tell which side/top/bottom attack I have readied.
Not to mention my quibbles about wrist wrenching and flailing flamberges!

replace actions.txt in the mod with actions.txt from Native (or another mod without custom animations).

However note that the extra animations are also used by the enemies, and sometimes it saves you from a blow you would get or gives you more time to block. They certainly add variety and I like that.

Keep the extra animations for enemies and native ones for the player would be nice, it makes the enemies less predictable.
Most of them are good and you get used to them except the overhand twirl-I'm-on-the-drums-swing, it's a bit long and gets you killed when you want to give a quick hit to the face.
I'll keep them anyway, native swings are boring.

The only animation I don't like is the "up-down swing after spinning the sword".  Is reaaaally slow, you can knock down a guy and he will have time to stand up before you hit him with that attack

How did you create them?

wasn't me. They are created by a few people (Even) and compiled by MAXHARDMAN

They look nice when you see a bunch of NPCs using them, but they make blocking a lot harder because you don't know what direction they're coming from.

To add to this...I like the new animations cause they make the fighting seem more fluent and fast paced.  Especcially when i pull all my men back and go 1v1 with the last dude on the field.  I hate going 1v1 against eaters though...

I agree. The new shield positions are awesome though!

I agree with this. Also it looks kind of stupid.

I disagree. It's certainly a little much with the one-handed weapons, but the two-handed weapons look great with it.

Hey look at me, I'm making circles with my really heavy battlehammer with only the strenght of my wrist

exactly

I can't stand them personally, it's just too unrealistic, anyone running around being that flashy on the field of battle is bound to get a spear shuved in his face.

Mind you, I can't properly aim a spear thrust with the new thrust animation anyway  *pops off to replace the file*

Great mod other than that though.

I just started playing EGIII and I really like it but the twirling upward attack gets right up my craw and causes me to scream curses at my computer. Sometimes I am forced to make choice comments about Chel's parentage and sexuality. Yes, it looks cool but getting your ass kicked because your character randomly decided to imitate the Star Wars prequels isn't. I now avoid making chop attacks at nearly all times.

For the sake of Chel's parents, who can't be all the nasty things I've called them, I hope that one attack can be removed.

I have no problems with the attacks infact i am quite content with them and think they add a bit of flair to the same old 4 attacks, Granted the upwards spinny chop of death is a bit flashy but Hey so its the spinny parrys that you do and atleast it looks cool, Besides just time your attacks better instead of doing random chops and pray you bring someone down
